BEST SORBET TIPS
LOVE THIS MACHINE !!! Recieved today && have already made 4 quarts of sorbet ! I cleaned the machine parts then made my mixture. It took about 40 minutes to get frozen nice and thick, cleaned the machine and made a second batch (that I sat in the freezer for about 10 minutes) it really didn’t make a difference still took about 35-40 minutes . When u remove the bucket to empty or clean the machine turns off (cooling system off) so trick is to not remove the bucket if u plan on making another batch right after. This worked out for me as I was planning to make rainbow sorbet anyway & will work out if you are making the same flavor ice cream etc. The third batch, that chilled in freezer for about 30 minutes , that I put in without removing bucket took between 25-30 minutes so progress ! After the 3 rd batch I BELIEVED I was done so I took machine apart cleaned it and unplugged it BUT I wanted to try a juice mixture to see what it would do (instead of the syrup mixtures from before) so I put the machine back together and it took 25 MINUTES !!!! So I believe the longer you use the machine and as long as long as your drink/mix is cold (juice was refrigerated not freezer chilled) you can make mixes in less time each go round ! Way better than my 4qt freeze bucket for hours and use salt and ice machine that I’ve had before ! I hope it never goes out !

Easy to use
I was surprised how each and affordable it is to make homemade ice cream with this machine. It is about half as loud as an outdoor ice/salt machine but this is understandable because a strong motor needed to stir the frozen mixture. The container is obviously very cold after the ice cream freezes and the multi surfaced mixer blade is encased in ice cream making it challenging to scoop it out. I find using oven mitts makes it easier to handle the container. In a humid environment the removable aluminum canister can get frozen to the machine between batches. I try to wipe everything down with a towel to reduce the possibility of the canister getting stuck.I wasn't sure how well I would like this machine and I didn't know what it's quality would be so I opted to minimize risk and purchase the smaller and cheaper 1.6 quarts model. If I had it to do over again I would buy the larger model. One can only fill 60% the canister per batch and all my recipes are for half a gallon so it takes me four batches to create a full gallon of ice cream. The aluminum canister and plastic mixing blade is easy to clean and dry. After making a dozen batches in the machine there are no signs of wear.

Great option for family fun and creative healthier options
Love this as a way to make frozen fruits into gorgeous organic gelatos using fresh ingredients and has my whole family excited about cooking again. The lello brand is top of the line and I settled on the lopie 2.1 qt (225$usd because it’s just about 3 for the price of one medium sized lello(720$usd). So I could literally make over 6qts in any flavor no delays and the lopie really does a great job efficiency and satisfaction wise. I’m not going to buy 3 of course at once anyway but if this dies off in a year or two after much loved use it’s still the most affordable quality option with built compressor not pre frozen mixing bowls and not the old fashioned super loud rock tumbler motorized wooden bucket with ice and rock salt sprinkled on the outside I grew up with but happily I’m able to pass on those recipes one happy spoonful after another.

It makes ice cream
I have used this to make a half dozen quart size batches of frozen yogurt, custard and ice cream. So far it is performing well. It gets down to -16 or -17 Celcius (2-3F). It is a little noisy - but not unreasonable. I wish the paddle and bin were all metal construction. The paddle is plastic and the bin has a plastic center piece that the paddle slides over. The manual says it includes a measuring cup but mine did not. The manual has been hastily translated into English and was a collection of papers stapled together. However running the machine is pretty straightforward. It seems to be the same machine as more expensive brands so I am happy to save some money by going with this model.* Update 4/27/19The machine is still going strong. I wish it were quieter, but it actually works out. When the ice cream is nearly done, the machine starts to labor a bit which makes it quieter. I use this as an indicator to start getting any additions ready that get mixed in at the end of a batch. A small amount of the black grease has seeped out around the center drive shaft but I am not concerned. It is a small amount and is no where close to where it could remotely touch the ice cream being churned. Overall still pretty happy.

Fast and easy ice cream!
Have only had for a couple days but have made 5 batched of ice cream. Works great and is very easy to use. It is important to follow the instructions and not to overfill with ingredients as air is whipped into the ice cream which makes it fluff up to a larger volume. It only takes about 25 minutes to make a batch so its quick and easy to make a couple batches if you need enough for a large group. As for the noise, it is not as loud as our Kitchen Aid mixer so I'm not quite sure what some reviewers were complaining about. Bottom line is that if you like ice cream you should have an ice cream maker in your home. Better than anything you will find in the ice cream freezer at the grocery store. If anything changes I will update this review.

It does the job.
Makes ice cream. Does the job. The recipes are a little weird; doesn't offer the traditional custard based recipe. The manufacturer packaging was very good; the amazon packaging was not good. The heavy manufacturer box rattled around in the amazon box. That said, the product was in very good condition. The unit is as heavy as you would expect a small refrigerator to be, but I won't be moving it around, so we're good. This was the bargain offering for ice cream makers with a compressor. Have only used it twice, but I think it will be fine.

arrived broken
The ice cream maker overheats and makes a screeching sound when the cooling fan kicks on. I have another one on the way. Ill give another review after i try the next one.
