A few pointers from a dentist....
I'm a dentist and I use this product and recommend it to my patients. This is a great product but here are a few pointers:- What makes this product really special is its viscosity! Its a very thick sticky gel (unlike the other thin watery gels) which is important because it is thicker than saliva therefore doesn't easily get diluted when in the mouth.- You need a set of proper fitting trays. Preferably ones that have a reservoir on the face of each tooth. The reservoir allows a pool of gel to sit on the tooth without pushing the gel towards the gums. Any dentist who is familiar with cosmetic dentistry should be able to make you a set of custom trays. They typically cost $200-400 for a set. They will be a great investment as they are reusable for many years.- Like other people have said, do NOT overfill the trays. Its a common misconception that putting more gel will yield better quicker results, but don't do it!! All that will happen is you'll burn your gums and stop using it. Less is more!- All whitening products are a type of peroxide. In this case carbamamide peroxide. Peroxide will lose its effectiveness with exposure to light and/or heat. It will also become less effective the longer it sits around. So I'm guessing the people who complain about this product not being effective are receiving old or improperly handled product. Dentists get this product in smaller batches directly from the manufacturer and store it in a refrigerator. So it may cost more from a dentist, but you will likely receive the freshest, most effective product. Guess it depends on how much your dentist is charging.- Stay away from anything that stains your teeth while using this product, and preferably one week after using this product. That means coffee, tea, wine, soda, or anything else that makes your saliva dark. Easy way to know what to avoid; anything that would stain a white tee shirt. STAY AWAY!- Use sensodyne 1 week before and during the use of this product to minimize the chance of tooth sensitivity.- Store your syringes in the refrigerator when you're not planning on using them immediately. They will lose potency if stored at room temperature. That about covers it. Happy whiteningDr Shawn Matian

It works!
I love this stuff. I had professional custom trays and just needed more gel and a friend recommended this product. I attached a picture showing the difference after each syringe. Took the pictures in the exact same lighting with no make. I have used two more syringes since these photos and they are even whiter now.

Simply the best!
This is hands-down without a doubt the most powerful at home teeth whitening tool in existence.I do between 5 to 6 30-minute sessions a year with the Opalescence 35%, and my teeth are like blinding even after months of once a day brushing/wine guzzling/etc. Set aside the time to do the 35% treatment like 4-5 times in a row (wait a few days if you get tooth sensitivity) and trust me... People regularly break conversation with me on a weekly basis to go "Wow! Your teeth are so white."That being said, use Opalescence the right way. And by that I mean fork out the cash and get a professional clear tray molded to your teeth at the dentist/orthodontist to properly use this. I see all the "DIY" moldable mouth tray things online and really hope no one tries that with this.At least in my experience, especially with the 35% strength Opalescence, you need a VERY precise application of the gel into the tray when putting it on your teeth. If you get a single molecule of excess gel (which I would imagine would be impossible to avoid with a crudely made dental tray) it will seep out and touch your gums... The sensation is similar to battery acid and your gums will have a weird white mark/stain on them for a bit. Very very not pleasant. I personally am a fan of the "put an individual small dot in each tooth socket" method over the advised "continuous stream of gel along the tray" method, as I always seem to burn my gums when done the advised way.All in all, FANTASTIC PRODUCT! I personally have never had a bad experience with a vendor selling faulty/expired Opalescence. But honestly that's the risk you take buying any product outside its designated sales parameters (like buying Redken/Paul Mitchell at the grocery store, etc) and the price on Amazon cannot be beat. GreenDot Sales is also very on point about reaching out to customers post-purchase to ensure everything is correct.

A couple tips from an avid user!!!
I use this with trays I got from my dentist shaped to my teeth and it gives me a very white smile, but just some things to know when using it:1) it will make your teeth sensitive as heck, so I suggest only doing it once every couple days until you reach your desired shade2) you might get EXTRA white spots on a couple of your teeth immediately after using, but they fade!!! It’s just the chemical reacting and dehydrating your tooth, it fades in a couple days3) it will probably take more than one use to get your desired shade unless you’re doing a touch up, so if you have to whiten more than one shade, start a week (minimum) before you want them pearly white4) they do (like any treatment) weaken your enamel so just be careful and DO NOT BRUSH RIGHT AFTER YOU TAKE THEM OFF!!!I use them without a blue light and I swear by them despite occasional sensitivity! Hope this helps
