Peace of mind! I have 5 now
These things are life savers!! I have about 5 now for emergency power outages. I had bought 3 when I was moving my 90 gallon tank 50 mins away. I had to re setup my tank so it held out for hours without me having to rush to get it done. Lately I'm pregnant so lugging my small generator I bought just for the fish tank is harder than before. We kept losing power everytime a storm came in and was out for an hour or two. I didn't want to setup my generator because I live where it wouldn't be out more than 4 hours. This produces a lot of oxygen for my fish and I just decided to make sure I have plenty going to be better safe than sorry. I do have different air stones on mine to produce better bubbles for the fish. My old set that was a different brand didn't hold up long and was extremely loud. These are quiet compared to my other one. I can only hear it in the room the tank is in vs hearing throughout the house with the old ones. That quiet comes in handy when the power is out at night and we want to actually get some sleep.

the bubble stone it comes with is VERY fragile and breaks off easily, too
Overall, before the grey air nozzle breaks, it works well on 5 gal or smaller bait buckets. Have bought three over two years, all three nozzles havebroken, even when stored inside a Pelican case I mounted to the top of the bucket/lid for what I thought was extra durability. Also, the bubble stoneit comes with is VERY fragile and breaks off easily, too. Amazon has refunded the price of one but would buy another with better components andpay the difference.

Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
I purchased this aerator for a different purpose than most. I wanted to make compost tea for my garden however there is no power out at my garden and didn't want to lug a huge bucket of tea from home. For compost tea you really need a lot of bubbling, I bought two aerators. They came with tubing (fairly short) and little air stones. For those using this for fish, one aerator would suffice for 5 gallons. I wasn't satisfied with the amount of bubbles I got with two so I purchased a third and some better air stones. This is the perfect solution for me. Two D batteries in each lasted over 48 hours (I used the Amazon basics batteries). Now I am buying rechargeable batteries because I hate all the waste. This little pump is a great deal at this price, you've really got nothing to lose.

Lasted 5 full days! Highly recommend
Excellent! We used this on a cross country move in an attempt to keep some relatively hard to find aquarium fish, rather than selling them. The batteries lasted much longer than we anticipated- 5 days for 24 hrs a day on a single set of batteries. It's did finally die shortly after that, but we were expecting 2-3 days. We were pleasantly surprised. The case protected the unit from splashing but we didn't have too much splashing in the first place. I'm glad to have this on standby as a backup air pump now that it served its initial purpose.

I purchased this Bubble box to use with a STEM ...
I purchased this Bubble box to use with a STEM project for my son's school. He was creating a Live Bait Well for a kayak. It worked well. Just placed 2 D batteries inside, attached the hose to the box and the air stone to the other. The only reason for 4 stars is that the hose was packaged inside the box in a way that made it form a kink. this made the hose kink part of the time when in use. The product itself was made well, but the mishandling in packaging caused the defect.

Impressive and long lasting
I have to say that I have been extremely impressed with the performance of this little aerator so far. I've had it running for over 80 hours now on one set of Energizer batteries! Few fatalities happened even with a batch of poor bait as stated from the store. Used with a larger squared off cooler style tank and your bait should only have to worry about your hook. There has been one point where this unit got totally submerged and I was thinking it was destroyed, wrong! I pulled it out of the water and it started coughing and spitting water like I'd done CPR on it and then went back to working like the champ it is. To save money and not have to worry about batteries finally dying unobserved when away I'd recommend buying a plug in aerator for when you are not on the water or en route (my truck actually has one the can be used too). Amazon has some of the plug in aerators priced reasonably as well.

Works great. Already paid for itself in 1st fishing trip
Works great. Already paid for itself in 1st fishing trip. Herring are tough to keep alive in the well. Usually 4 hr fishing trip, 2dozen herring, half of the bait will die in my tank. Last weekend I had 3 dozen herring in one of my 18gal tanks and only lost @ 8 in a 24hr period. 2 D cells really last a long time. Would be nice if the rubber tube were 10-14" longer, but can't complain. Only regret is I didn't buy one years ago. Also great for picking up bait from store in 5gal bucket and keeping them healthy on way to the boat. Keeps me from pulling boat out of water to the bait shop for multiple day fishing trips.

Lasts forever!!!
I used this for a couple hours a few weeks ago in a bucket of scallops. This weekend, I caught some bait fish Saturday night and turned on the aerator. It is now Tuesday morning and the unit is still bubbling on the same batteries and the bait fish are still alive in the 5 gallon Home Depot bucket!!! Amazing that this thing runs on batteries for this long and the fish are still alive in a simple bucket.
