Just like the sunglasses you would buy in store...
My husband really wanted a pair of nice sun glasses. We went to Academy to buy them but Instead we decided to buy them on Amazon so we could get free shipping and 5% cash back by using our Amazon card. They are the same sunglasses my husband tried on in the store... we just got more perks by buying them on Amazon. The glasses are high quality. My husband has a “big head” and fit great. If you look up close the glasses frame looks like wood grain.

Clear no glare vision
Was wearing Arnette sunglasses which are a very good quality brand made in Italy...but they cannot compare to the Maui Jim WASSUPs. I have never had a clearer pair of glasses ....absolutely zero glare and worth every penny. They also have a very strong hinge which provides a firm, but comfortable fit. A friend let me try a pair of his on and I made my purchase on AMAZON within the next 20 minutes! Maui Jim has won me over for good!!!!

NOT a True Rose Lens
The actual lens is not as depicted in the photos and the official Maui Jim product video. The photos and video show the lens as NOT comprising a variant opacity. HOWEVER, the actual lens has a darker translucency at the top and bottom, and a lighter translucency in the middle.I realize the variant opacity was intentionally designed (it's useful in certain viewing environments). However, Maui Jim should have explained this in their product description.MOST IMPORTANT:This is NOT a true rose lens. Unfortunately, a perfectly blue sky looks gray through this Maui Jim "Rose" lens. In my opinion, that is not a true rose lens. The sky should still look blue, while also comprising a rose tint (like the glass rose lens manufactured by Costa Del Mar).Maui Jim should provide a better rose lens, without the grayish optical characteristics.

Not What They Used to Be.
I have used Maui Jim sunglasses exclusively since they first became available on my small Caribbean island in the late 90's. I have light blue eyes and no glasses have matched the comfort and clarity of the low light levels I experienced from their darkest lenses in all that time. Every 2-3 years, I'd get a new pair rather than having them rebuilt (too much salt in the air here).I lost my last pair on an emergency flight to the US and since I went to Tucson, needed glasses for driving immediately. I couldn't find Maui Jims, so bought a 'temporary' pair of Quay sunglasses with polarized, dark grey lenses at a mall...they were around $30.00 on sale.I ordered the Maui Jim glasses online - they no longer have the dark grey lenses so I ordered the neutral grey lenses...when they arrived, I drove with them and thought wait; these do not feel as protective to my eyes as the Quay lenses.I alternated and no, they were not.so I looked it up and found the Maui Jim company has been sold.not sure where to go next. I need wraparounds with good lenses. This is too bad.I doubt the Quay lenses will last but they cost 7x less than the Maui Jims.I'm really disappointed.I also had a Big Mac on the trip- my first in 4 years and thought-no, actually said aloud, 'what the heck is this?'. It cost almost $8.00 and was terrible, with teeny burgers swimming in a (still smaller than I remember) bun with no discernable flavors and a gloopy texture. Everything changes I guess.
