My second batch this year!
The media could not be loaded. These pictures are from the second batch of Painted Lady butterflies I purchased this year. Both sets contained a 6 or 7 caterpillars per container, and every crysalis, cocoon, produced a butterfly that emerged and was set free. I purchased a third set, and they are progressing well.I started doing this during COVID, and it was so meaningful. I sent my grandchildren kits so that they could enjoy watching life continue during challenging times. Each grandchild had these kits growing in their classrooms when COVID closed schools, and this allowed them to see from beginning to end, the process of caterpillars transforming into beautiful butterflies.I do this for myself, now. The grandchildren have grown and are busy, and I have the opportunity to watch these magical beings come to life and it is such a thrill to release them.I encourage everyone to give this a try. It’s a magical experience, you won’t regret! They are easy to do. I had a habitat for them from another vendor and continue using it. It takes a couple of weeks, and voila! You do need to feed them after they emerge, and instructions are included in each order. Give this a try! Kids or no kids, it’s a wonderful experience.

Wonderful Educational Experience for Preschoolers!
I purchased this butterfly larvae kit for a preschool classroom activity, and it exceeded all expectations! The children were absolutely fascinated by watching the caterpillars grow, form their chrysalises, and eventually emerge as beautiful butterflies. It was an engaging and hands-on way to teach them about the life cycle of insects.

Great customer service
We have ordered caterpillars the past 6 years. Usually we get 7 caterpillars per cup (x2) and have been lucky enough to be able to release all 14 butterflies. This last order we were not so lucky. We had 2 cups (14 caterpillars total), but some of the caterpillars did not make it, some didn't make it through the chrysalis phase, and then a couple butterflies died before being released (after a few days). We were only able to release 3. We were bummed. Never had that happen before. We reached out to the seller and within days, they sent us 14 caterpillars! I know they can't control what happens to these live critters, but really appreciated the fact that we get a second try. (Guaranteed 6). Great customer service.

Highly recommend
This is my second time ordering from this company! Both times the order was shipped fast and the caterpillars were all alive. This purchase was made by a school PTO buying for the schools first grade classrooms and the kids love them. I highly recommend.

All of our butterflies hatched!
We already have a habitat, so I just needed to order the refill. I feel it's overpriced, but it served its purpose. The kids were excited to watch the changes and finally see butterflies hatch. The kit included everything we needed, and all our butterflies hatched.

All alive!
Received 14 instead of 10 and all of them are alive 2 days later! They are growing quickly so far. It’s fun to watch them grow. While it’s probably still early to leave a review, what happens moving forward is in my care. As for delivery and packaging, they arrived safely and quicker than expected :)

Traumatizing! Only half made it :(
I’ve been getting caterpillar kits for years, and always had great success and fun. This is the first time purchasing from this company, and will be the last time.First, the caterpillars came almost fully grown. They were ready to switch over within a few days.Second, not all of the chrysalis formed on the top (lid), most of them had fallen off and were at the bottom of the cup. I had read that it’s okay if this happens, and to just make sure you place the chrysalis close to the net( so they have something to grab on to when they emerge ). This sadly Wasn't the case.Third-usually the chrysalis form on the lid, which makes it easy to transfer and place in the little slot. These cups came with mesh topping on the bottom of the lid, which came apart once you opened the cup : Luckily I was able to clip the two together with a binder paper clip; not a big deal, but unnecessary.Fourth- only the ones that were hanging on the cup lid, made it. Probably about 5 out of 12 made it.Fifth-We did get to watch some of the butterflies emerge from the chrysalis, which was a new thing for me: pretty awesome , right? That’s when the trouble began. The poor butterflies only made it half way out of their chrysalis. It was torture trying to watch this happen: so sad! We tried helping them out by placing them on the net; this only helped some. The butterflies would exhaust themselves and unfortunately didn’t fully make it out of their chrysalis. Now , explaining this to 2-3 year olds with special needs, was really difficult. 🥹🥹 this has never happened to me before!I do NOT recommend this company, and will NOT be purchasing from them again.
