Much Better than a screw driver or pry bar

Took a long time to write a review. Finally got good weather without snow. I have 1996 Sentra. Was able to pop the passengers side with ease, worked perfectly. Drivers side was more of a challenge. was not able to get both tines under the axle and had to use the tool as a super duty screw drive. The steel this tool is made of was more than able to meet the challenge. Got both axles off without taking the inner CV joint apart as I needed to do previously. Over all I am very satisfied with. the Product.

Works great!

Used these on my Volvo XC90 Front Driver side CV Axle today. Actually only needed the beveled tool. Had to remove the plastic shroud on the bottom of the car to get a clean shot at the right spot on the transmission side of the CV axle. A few taps with a 2lb hammer to the bottom of the tool did the trick. Easy!

Great tool for the diy mechanic.

Does what it is supposed to do. Got the axle off with very little effort. Used on a ford focus. Make sure to put the flat side to the transmission to avoid any damage. The price is just right for a pretty much one time use tool. Will go in my toolbox probably never to be used again.

Where were you all these years?

I spent 6 hrs trying to pop out a Corolla driver's side cv joint. It took 6 minutes with this tool. The steel used is high quality and doesn't flex which allows all the force to be transferred to the cv hub. I highly recommend these tool for the do it yourselfer or a shop owner. Reasonably priced and good quality.

Works, sort of.

Used on a 04 GMC Envoy/Trailblazer in Boston. Heavily rusted. None of the manufacturers of these forks provide guidelines for vehicle types. These are one size fits all. That’s not the case with pickle forks so it can’t be with these. I almost returned them after trying to fit them. The opening for a mid size suv or larger is just too narrow. Even the wedge fork was too thick to fit between the transfer case and axel on both sides. I could only get about a 30 degree angle of striking on each side between cross members of the frame. Be sure to remove the actuator sensor on the right side before attempting to remove the axel shaft. A miss would be costly. I doubt that any vehicle would allow direct access, so you’ll be ponding at an angel. They did help remove the axels so they are worth the money. Pointers: Spray P B Blaster between the transfer case and axel as many days and times as you can before you try this. Remove and protect the actuator sensor on the right side before striking that side . Try to use a large pry bar (full length metal for better force transmission) first to get a little start space for the fork. Rotate the axle and strike the three ribs/spoked of the steel axel. Do not strike the aluminum transfer case housing. Do not put excess force against the housing. The majority of the force should be only on the axle are between the two. Se a mini sledgehammer. At least a 5 lb er. The fork may override onto the shaft and get jammed there so have a pry bar or something similar to help remove it. Be patient. Spray often. Turn and strike often. I alternated using a pry bar, long chisel and the fork. The left side took about 30 minutes. The right side, hours over two days.My last resort was going to be to grind down the wedge fork to widen the opening. Fortunately I didn’t have to.

Fantastic tool that WORKS!

After fighting my CV axle removal for about an hour, I stopped, shopped and ordered this tool. On Saturday morning I spent at least a whole minute with this tool and easily removed the CV axle from the transmission. HIGHLY recommend this tool! It will save LOTS of frustration in the future.

Just by them!

TOTALLY made EASY work for a normally terrible job!I really wish I had them for the VW Golf I busted knuckles over!Used them on a 2010 Toyota Matrix/Corolla...3 whacks and they were out! (I seriously made some youtubers look really bad!!!)Best $35 spent in a while!!!

Good quality - not perfect for an R53 Mini

The LH axle on my R53 Mini needed extra encouragement to come out. The ARES tool is high quality and it was instrumental in popping the axle, but the clearance on the Mini is so tight that you can't use the tool quite as intended. That's a Mini problem, not the tool.

These are good saved me every time can use like a pry bar or can use both at once

Very good to have should last a life time for the weekend warriors. Don’t think the pro trade mechanic would need these they seem to do it easy with a regular prybar

Looks pretty handy

I bought them to change the Axle on my 2010 Mazda 3, however, I didn't use them yet. Will keep them anyways. Very decent price.
