Definitely recommend.
This is a good laptop. I use it for game development, Unity, Photoshop, Blender, and a bit of TF2, and it handles everything pretty well, better than expected for only having integrated graphics Anti Aliasing can be a bit hard on it though, so if you're going to be playing any games go ahead and disable it if you're getting particularly awful framerates. It's got a fantastic screen with a good amount of real estate as expected for a 1080p 17" device, although I regularly forget about the touch bit. Although it's refurbished it feels brand new, but I'm going to wait a bit before shoving stickers all over it though. Comes loaded with a bunch of crapware, but just run decrapifier to get rid of them. 12 Gigs of RAM is plenty. It feels fairly solid as well, could do with a better hinge.Edit:This isn't really an issue for me, but I thought I should add that this laptop has about two hours (plus or minus about 30 minutes depending on what you're doing) of battery life. So long as you turn it off in between use and stay around wall outlets it shouldn't be a huge issue however. Additionally you can buy expanded battery packs if you are so inclined.

Display Resolution NOT AS ADVERTISED
HP Pavilion 17-f233cl 17" TouchSmart Notebook PC - Intel Core i5-5200U 2.2GHz 12GB 1TB DVDRW Windows 8.1 (Certified Refurbished)Got this one for my wife's Christmas. Promised to set it up for her.Visual inspection not bad - small scratch across external lid, small depressed square in upper right corner where a sticker of some sort had been. Really minor cosmetic issues. Overall, very clean looking. Except as below, everything checked out as advertised. The REALLY BIG problem - resolution NOT AS ADVERTISED. Maximum resolution 1600X900 (supposed to be 1920X1080). Called HP tech support, they "took over" the laptop and verified that, sure enough, it was a "hardware problem"...Be sure to check your screen resolution by right clicking anywhere on the screen and going into resolution, then seeing the "recommended" and maximum modes offered.Very disappointed. Of course, out of stock, so I get a refund and the opportunity to purchase a new one for $200 more.Could just be a glitch, but a 1600X900 display in a laptop advertised as 1920X1080? Hmmm....

Warranty work needed right out the box.
Item arrived and needed warranty work. Number pad wasn't working properly and the screen has an annoying flicker. HP was great with initial warranty process. Will know more when it returns in 10-14 days.

Excellent computer for the cost
I haven't had any issues with the refurbished quality of the system, no dead pixels on the screen, and the touchscreen has worked perfectly every time I've used it. I upgraded it immediately to Windows 10, and the only issue I had was with the Synaptics Touchpad setting not saving my settings after reboot. Had to download the latest software from HP, uninstall the Synaptics drivers, reboot, and reinstall from the downloaded version to get it to work. Was frustrating until I found the solution, but has worked perfectly since.

Just buy a new one!!!!
This would have been one of those great reviews about how I bought something that was a refurb against my better judgement and every one lived happily ever after, but nope!!!! The computer was performing so well that it became my "go-to" computer. Then today while I doing reservations for a minication, boom, it stopped working. I blame myself as I am the one that bought refurb and its warranty just expired at the end of December. I am not buying a refurbished anything, ever.

Unit turned on fine and works okay
Arrived okay. Outer box squished by the typical logistics 'smash n' stash' small package shipper.Unit turned on fine and works okay.3 stars because there is a BIG pixel out in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Not cool for a birthday present to my daughter.Lucky for KLAMP my daughter is very accepting of this issue.Next time, double-check your quality before you say you are 'certified' refurbished.Must mean the same as 'sell as-is'....

Excellent Laptop and Seller
I just received this laptop today and haven't spent a lot of time on it but so far it is fantastic. This refurbished laptop looks and feels brand new. The 1900x1080 touch screen display is fabulous. It's fast and for me it's wonderful because it has Windows 8.1 on it. Not fond of the new Windows 10. I couldn't ask for a better computer. And I absolutely love KLAMP Electronics. They are awesome.

Refurbished computer
I was hesitant to purchase a refurbished product but after reading Amazon's assurances that this would be a great buy I purchased the product at approximately one half of retail and I am very pleased with the product. Everything works as promised.
