Solid chessboard in pieces
This is a good chessboard. It’s really strong magnets, fairly portable without being too small. Also I appreciate the fact that it has coordinate which is good we’re trying to teach new players. The pieces are a little Jenkee, but it’s really not that big of a deal.

Great travel set and side table set.
This was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to use this set on a side table to review games from video and text sources. It's a wooden board that has the algebraic notation on the both sides, with black and white squares. It's the perfect size for me. I like the chess piece designs. I've seen some sets before where the felt pads were uneven and attached poorly. But this set they were all attached perfectly centered and secure. The magnets in each piece held the them securely to the board even when tilted at a 45 degree. Ideally I'd like the magnets a bit stronger. I wanted a board that opened completely flat leaving no seam between the halves which this one does that. The board surface is nicely printed. The inside foam was cutout for each piece including the extra Queen. I great feature so you don't have pieces rattling around during travel. I would highly recommend this set as a gift and for travel.

Worth Every Penny!!!!!
I absolutly love this chess set. So much that I order my husband one. Even though he has more than 8 different ones. But he wanted this one cause of the wsy its made and the magnetic affect of the peices.

Decent chess set if you don't get one that's defective
I had a larger 20' board and decided I needed something smaller because the other can't fit comfortably on my desk. Perhaps I should have gone for 16' but this one is still not bad in terms of size. The biggest issue was that there was some black paint near the edge of the board and even, although to a lesser extent, on 2 of the white squares of the board (see the pictures). I guess they decided that it was OK to sell/ship but I thought it was a more serious defect. The only other defect--although not a huge problem--is that one of the white bishops is a very slightly different shades of white. (I'm not about to return the item over any of this though). But OK if you are thinking about buying this chess set (and presumably you'll be getting one without a defect), here's how I would break it down:Cons:-Not too big of a deal, but the pieces could be just slightly bigger, especially the pawns. Although it's unreasonable to except this for the price that this set costs, it would also be nice if the pieces had a little more weight to them (but the magnet may help give the impression that the pieces are heavier than they actually are).-The magnet is not too strong. The board cannot be turned upside down without 5-10 pieces falling off and even at over 45 degrees the pieces will begin to slide off.Pros:-The board is simply beautiful.-Seems ideal for travel (but it does take a good minute to take out the pieces or to put them back in).-The board size is not too bad (as opposed to the pieces).
