- About this item KNIFE + SHARPENER SET - contains a high-quality 8-inch Chef's knife, a compact, very effective knife sharpener and a knife sheath. The knife is a true all-rounder: it chops, cuts and dices meat, fish, fruit and vegetables with ease. In addition, it is a real feast for the eyes, lies comfortably in the hand and will be your reliable kitchen companion for a long time. THE STEEL - The Steel framework of the knife is cast from one piece (Full Tang). The INOX (stainless) steel is compliant to German DIN 1.4116 (X50CrMoV15). Its high Carbon content of 0.55% makes it harder. 15% Chromium increases the corrosion resistance and 0.8% Molybdenum reduces the brittleness. A Rockwell HRC hardness of 55-57 implies good edge retention, while still remaining properly sharpenable. THE BLADE - is hand sharpened at 15 ° per side to produce a balance between sharpness and resilience. It is hand-finished with traditional craftsmanship, combined with high-tech procedures such as Cryo-tempering and processed under vacuum heat treatment, strengthening the steel's crystalline structure. The Laser-engraved pattern on the blade is made for decoration and anti-sticking purposes. THE HANDLE - is made of natural beech wood layers, embedded in a special composite resin, making the handle waterproof and tougher. The handle is ergonomically designed, comfortable to use also during long cooking sessions. Water or detergents don't harm the blade or handle, but it is not recommended to put the knife into the dishwasher. THE SHARPENER - features 2 stages. Stage 1 (gray) made of tungsten carbide, which is twice as hard as steel and is for sharpening when the blade is blunt and Stage 2, made of aerospace ceramic (white), when it is not so blunt. Instructions: Hold the sharpener with one hand against a solid surface and guide the blade vertically into the chosen slot. Then hold down the blade with moderate pressure. Gently slide the knife 3-5 times in your direction (just in one direction) - and done.

Not bad
The knife has come surprisingly well sharpened and looks of good facture. Cut both meat and vegetable very nicely. The sharpener is a nice addition, good value for the price.EDIT after a few weeks the knife started to get rust points where there's the laser incision. It's unfortunate because it was working very well. Lowering to from 5 stars to 2.

Bought this as a PRESENT, for someone else.Looking at it, it seems nice knife, fits hand nicely, comes in a nice presentation/ gift box. Also comes with a sheath, for the blade and a sharpener for it, nice touch.Seems to be well balanced.8 INCH blade, nice length for myself.PLEASE NOTE, MADE IN CHINA, states MADE FROM GERMAN Stainless steel, time will tell.Sturdy looking blade.Have not tried using knife for cutting anything, but have asked recipient to keep myself inform and will inform you of any mishaps with knife.Would I recommend knife, yes from what I have seen of it.Would I buy it again, yes I would.
