This was WELL WORTH the price
So this year I put a new unit in (slightly larger btu 6k-8k) and it has been VERY muggy upstate New York. And the difference from last year to this year inside the house is ASTOUNDING old unit ran full tilt boogie 24/7 to maintain 72-74…. But this year . New unit + the insulation is wild. Machine runs full time but on the lowest setting. Machine is set to 67. And one room over it’s 68. Zero complaints . Probably could have gotten away with keeping the old machine . But the cost of the new machine will be mitigated by the lower cost to run it all summer . Very happy . Also I have replacement windows (not ideal for window units) so it is more flush with the wall so I did tape down the edges with clear insulation tape but I’m still very happy . And not to mention the bugs that the tape just wasn’t able to keep out . (We live in the woods and bugs are normally a huge issue ) WELL WORTH the 40 bucks

Great product, nice look!
Great product. Really looks good and I believe, because of the 1inch thickness, will help maintain cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. I would suggest that you get a piece of cardboard or heavy paper to make a stencil for each side, then use the stencil to make an outline (pencil didn't work, use a pen, the ink can be removed with a little rubbing). Use a good pair of scissors to cut along the outline (the razor knife did not work well for long lines). The product didn't really fit my window and needs, but with a few adjustments turned out looking really nice!

Worth the money
Looks a million times better than it did before! Took some time, but installed great. Comes with 2 sides and a top piece to trim for a custom fit. I added one strip of white Duck tape to bottom of my windowsill to bridge the little gap I had. Give this a 10 out of 10. Worth the money. The quality is better than I expected. The white material has almost a leather like quality to it.

It works
I put cardboard behind the plastic curtain before putting the breeze stop in. I am not sure if it's necessary but only one side of the breeze stop has a white layer that is waterproof. I might have installed it inside out but still. The plastic curtains window AC's come with aren't sealed to the window AC well so cardboard behind the curtain makes sense. When my AC is off it's like I have my window closed so breeze stop is good

For the experienced DIYer with tools. Throw away the accordions.
The accordion things that come with window air conditioners? Throw them out! This stuff works ten fold better. But only if you measure and cut correctly. The kit is completely custom, so you have to measure and cut the pieces to fit your particular install. Follow the instructions and find the instructional YouTube videos to help. Not sure what the best cutting method is, even with very sharp knives I had trouble. But that's okay because it means the material is dense and will hold in the cool air well, which it does.

I won’t buy this again next year
Installing this stuff to exactly fit around my window a.c. was hard work. Measurements must be exact…do not try to eyeball it, as the instructions suggest you might in some spots. It MUST be cut with a utility knife and, ideally, an T-square, and even then, the edges are a bit ragged. Once I had the side panels cut to the correct size, I had trouble getting the outside edges (the edges against the window trim) to stay put. I had to line the trim with double-sided tape and push and poke the panels until the tape found something to grab. I was about 85% satisfied with the appearance of the installation once I was through. Far better than the flimsy accordion panels that came with the air conditioner. The next day, I realized the *back* of the accordion panels are exposed on the outside. I can’t imagine they’ll hold up through a Midwestern winter. I had enough foam panel left from the kit, so once again, I measured and cut and wrestled with the panels to cover the outside of the accordion panels. I cut the pieces a tad wider than necessary and one edge fit into the channel for the screen (which can’t be lowered from the top window pane, obviously), so there’s a good chance everything will stay in place until next spring. Next year, I’ll save myself a lot of hassle and money and buy foam board and more double-sided tape. I do not plan to buy this kit again.

Will buy again
This works great. It noticeably reduces the compressor noise, and it looks great. I use weather seal tape around the unit/window, and then put the insulation over everything. Provides a noise and heat barrier, and gives it all a clean and even look. I’ve been able to reuse it, and actually cover the side panels of a second window ac unit. So, definitely getting my moneys worth here.
