2016 two CD collection. After a brief stint as The Universal Robot Band, Kleeer enhanced their funk/disco leanings further to notable success on the Billboard Hot 100 charts from their late 70s work through to the eventual shift to electronic R&B in the 80s. 1979 saw the release of I Love To Dance on Atlantic Records, which featured disco anthems 'Tonight's the Night (Good Time)' and 'Keeep Your Body Workin'. Winners boasted a more Funk oriented sound. The title track is a fine example of this whilst second single 'Open Your Mind' is a subtler jazz inflected groove. Kleeer entered their peak in commercial success with 1981's License To Dream. Get Tough is a rollicking fusion of funk and dance 1982's Get Ready and Taste The Music continued the band's progressive approach to keeping the funk uptown but they were about to undergo a change in direction that would win them a whole new audience. Kleeer would close their remarkable run with two albums produced by the legendary Eumir Deodato, fresh from his hit run as Kool & The Gang's producer. 1984's Intimate Connection and 1985's Seeekret displayed a laid-back almost entirely electronic sound that found that band in step with the mid-eighties soul sound. 'Next Time It's For Real' is possibly their most understated release and continues the mid-tempo groove they continued to explore throughout their run whilst final hit 'Take Your Heart Away' boasts a wondrous quiet storm prelude before segueing into a breathless soulful groove. BBR is very proud indeed to present this newly remastered anthology of Kleeer's catalog with brand new interviews with Paul Crutchfield and Richard Lee housed in a super jewel case.

Excellent CD. Great collection of this underrated group's music.
The CD arrived in a timely manner. It plays great and the music is excellent. This is a great collection of the group's hits and album cuts. They never really got the credit they deserved despite great material and talent. Would recommend as an introduction to anyone who is not familiar with them or fans of their music.

This Album By clear is a Real 'Intimate Connection'
I love the Group KLEEER's Musical Artistry. Real sinfers from days gone by.The music is still timely & relevant as the day that it was created.

Finally a compilation with "Wall To Wall" on it. Worth the money right there.

The quality of this disc is not good! Won’t play in my car
I would love to give this a good review as I’ve been wanting this album for a while. I’m collector/DJ/Producer and I was excited to open this and play it as I was headed on the road. THIS WILL NOT PLAY IN MY CAR!!! The CD player always spits it back out.Kleeer, Dexter Wansel, Kool and the Gang Emergency Album from BBR Records, none of them will play in my car! It will play in my home system but not in my car! The quality of the disc are not good! I fully expect this to play in a car system as well as a home system.Buyer Beware!!!

THROWBACK THEATER: 50/50 GAMBLE--When it's KLEEER to all musical parties concerned...
...that this was the band that did something called THAT! Back in the day, they had that funky R&B/Disco groove that could keep the party jumping, and the fact that this came as a two disc set, just made the party last longer! Outside of GET TOUGH & WINNERS, I took a chance, because I had not heard ANYTHING that they had released. Now that I have it, I am sold! Talented and with voices, they made it a joy to listen to and bounce in the car, all at the same time! Just when I thought I was going to work out all two discs, they hit me with ballads I loved just as much! INTIMATE CONNECTION & SAY YOU'LL STAY turned out to be my new favs.......LOVED THEM!!! All in all, this was a band that did it and did it well and I'm glad I had the money to invest!

I can't believe I took so long to find out what great music this group made. Thank you Solar radio for playing "You did it again ". This track persuaded me to purchase this album. Wow, one great album.👌
