Wreckfest - PlayStation 5

Really enjoyed this game.

Sony have always had a demolition derby racing game on their platform since the Playstation 1. Wreckfest carries on this tradition and then some. The backbone of this game is pretty much the same; race and smash stuff up, or jump into a destruction derby and just smash stuff up without the race.The graphics are fantastic as you would expect for the PS5. This version *feels* more real, the physyics of the cars really feel like they are on the ground, rather than that weird 'floaty' feeling that the cars used to have on the surface of the tracks before.There is the usual campaign mode where you race in various classes, each with their own sets of challenges. You can race cars, trucks, lorries and more. Even sofas, combine harvesters and Reliant Robin's await you.The online races are still full of players, so there is always a challenge.Talking of challenges, there are some wacky tracks that you can bomb around on which give you stuff like loop-the-loops, being fired from a cannon and other jumping and spinning things.If you love short oval racing as well as bigger track, or just ramming cars in a mud pit, then this is the game for you. Great for stress relfief after a frustrating day at work!Highly recommended.

Simple game of bashing up cars like the 90s demo derby game we all miss. Great fun and graphics. Not fussed about career mode, happy with the race options included.

Mt kid loves it. Lots of different challenges

Despite having the DLC season passes with extra cars etc, I found that I can't use them in career mode 😕you've still got to use the cars you've unlocked through game progression, and in my case having just started is the default one. Plus why start career mode driving, and crashing, seated lawnmowers? Why not actual cars like Flatout which this is supposed to be based around. I really wish that PlayStation would bring the original Flatout or Flatout 2 onto the PS store or on the classics collection, they're were great fun. This game has good graphics, not a Gran Turismo by any stretch, but still perfectly enjoyable 😃There's other modes Inc a demolition Derby in a stadium 🏟️ where I actually managed to wreak two opponents cars before mine blew up 😲🔥Good if you can get it around the £20 mark 😃
