Multiple uses!
I used this paint in an unconventional way. Following the advice of a Pinterest post, I painted the old laminate countertops in my mother's motorhome..and even her plastic sinks. It was highly successful. The paint self fills as it dries for nice even coats and left the counters looking replaced instead of repainted. The smell is a bit strong so make sure your space is ventilated well. Also, it doesn't clean up well so use a brush you don't mind having to toss. I used 40 cent chip brushes to do mine....worked great.

Great for Fiberglass Showers/Tubs
This worked perfectly for my fiberglass tub surround which was a horrid butterscotch color (see photo). The paint does have strong fumes, though, so make sure there is ample ventilation. To apply, I used a roller for a majority of the surround, and small paintbrush for touchups around the hardware. Since it's boat paint it is waterproof! The color, Oyster White, completely brightened up my bathroom.Took 3-4 coats, total, without primer.

Great paint. I used it to paint the hull ...
Great paint. I used it to paint the hull of an old fiberglass fishing boat. I was a little unsure about using this for the hull since it is rated only for "above the water line". After much research on manufacturer's sites and boating forums, i found that the "below the waterline" rating is assuming the boat is stored on the water. Such as larger boats that sit at the dock in salt water month after month year after year. If you trailer your boat (only put it in water when your are actually using it) the "topside" paint works great. This paint isn't nearly as good as a traditional gel coat but at this price it made sense for me. Refinishing the hull in a gel coat would have cost me almost as much as I paid for the boat. It rolls well. Make sure to do your prep work. I sanded the old paint down as much as i could in a reasonable amount of time (previous owners had used latex paint! What a mess!). I wiped the whole thing down with mineral spirits after sanding. I started with a prime coat from the same company. I sanded and wiped with mineral spirits between each coat and it turned out beautifully. I get questions and compliments nearly every time i go to the lake. There are definitely imperfections but you have to get within arms lenght to even notice them. If you look carefully in the pictures, as the coats built up you can notice the finish starts to pick up reflections. I will try giving it a coat of wax sometime this summer. I could not be happier with how this paint turned out. Just beware this stuff really stinks! I would recommend using some sort of resperator even outside. I was rolling it on outside in a good breeze and the blue paint started making me dizzy. For whatever reason the color coats seam to smell stronger then the primer and the white.

It lays down really easily with the roller tip method
I have used this stuff for years on multiple boats and a few other projects. It lays down really easily with the roller tip method. The shine so far has lasted at least 6 years on one boat. It takes about a month to fully cure after that it is very difficult to scratch. During the curing period you have to treat it very gently as it is still somewhat soft it will scratch or scrape off the surface. The most important thing with this product is a good primer coat. It doesn't matter if you've already got paint on the surface you want to scuff it with sandpaper use the primer and make sure your primer coat is perfect, by sanding it. The other thing I will caution is that you want to wait 24 hours after you sand between coats I was told by Rust-Oleum that after you sand you release more chemicals and can cause orange peel. That was their recommendation 6 years ago when I did my big boat. It has looked great since. If you want a super high gloss mirror finish you will have to spray and wet sand and buff. The roller tip will give you a shiny nice finish at about 5ft. The white looks amazing at any distance with the roller tip. If you're using on your deck I highly recommend the non slip additive as this product is super slippery once wet. Overall for the price if you're looking to renew your boat and do it yourself this is a fantastic product.

Worked great for my projects
I bought a canoe for $50 and it was pretty trashed, used this Rust-oleum Topside paint for it. I did it on the cheap, no fiberglass work, just painted over the cracks and scratches. Two coats were required due to the rough surface. I'm really happy with the results for the little amount of work I put into it. The canoe was painted with dollar store foam brushes. The paint self levels fairly well, so even with hand painting with foam brushes the results were good. See pics. I also used this paint to paint a rusty gas meter (pipes) it worked out well and this paint color (battleship gray) was approved by the gas company. It does take a little getting used to brushing this paint, since it gets tacky quickly. It is oil based.

Cheap and easy. . just how I like it
As was suggested by other reviewers, I added the valspar hardener and thinner. The paint rolled on smoothly and I did the entire 14 foot boat with one quart; two coats. It looks great, IMO, for a DIY job but won't win any awards. I wet sanded between coats and I think it looks good. I would definitely recommend Rustoleum to anyone looking to freshen up an old boat.

Incredible Paint
Outstanding paint! Don't just apply this straight out of the can, or it will take forever to cure. I thin it with mineral sprits and then add some Valspar hardener, and then roll it on with a 4" roller, and use a hair dryer afterwards set to no heat to blow and pop the bubbles. After each coat hardens for at least a day, do a wet sand with 600 grit to knock down any remaining bubbles and to smooth out the orange peel, and you can produce a professional paint job after about 3 coats. After the final coat and wet sanding, polish it with Meguiar's Ultimate Polish using an electric polisher and wool pad to bring out a full luster in the finish. This paint also contains enough UV protection that even after 2 years mine hasn't changed and still beads raindrops, and I've never even had to wax it!

Good product
I used this on top of the primer, went on a really nice to an old fibreglass fishing boat. Make sure to put it on Thin layers as it runs really easy. Looks good and would use it again. Didn’t find it filled in small holes, probably because I was applying a thin layer. So make sure you fix those up before painting.

... this paint on my fiberglass trailer and found it easy to use
I used this paint on my fiberglass trailer and found it easy to use. It is important to use a high density roller and to use enough paint on the roller to get good coverage on the first pass..I was happy with the results after 3 coats with light sanding with increasingly fine paper in between and finishing with 2000 grit wet sanding before the last coat. The paint went a long way and I had some leftover for touch ups later.

Excellent Paint
This paint is top notch! It applies easily and evenly, and it dries to a hard, smooth shell. My boat looks fantastic!
