Fundamentals of Software Architecture: An Engineering Approach Paperback – 3 March 2020

I got the reference of the book from a ThoughtWorker. It was really a great book on Architecture. In fact, all the chapters are crafted well with sufficient details on architecture characteristics, architecture styles etc. Moreover, what this book does is it allows you to think about the trade-offs in architecture which is the essence of the book. It is surely one of the best technical books I have ever read in my career.

A must book for software engineer and it’s relevant for today’s technical stack!!!!

I did get some helpful insights from this book. The authors keep reiterating that breadth matters more for Architects, but did go in-depth and LCOM and cyclomatic complexity. Reading about Abstractness and Instability was a good review from Robert Martin's Clean Architecture, but distance metric was an interesting concept to read about just like Connascence.Module 2 provides an overview of the various architecture styles and Module 3 shows the importance of possessing soft skills.The book does provide reference to Building Evolutionary Architectures, which apparently is another book from the author of this book. It almost felt like I should've read Building Evolutionary Architectures instead of this one. Anyway, I'll probably read that one too.

I read the kindle sample of this book an found very engaging and interesting book. And I would like to get the full version of the kindle book. The only problem I see is, in Indian market, kindle book price is more than double the physical book ( 3346 vs 1500) . Usually for other books, I see it the other way around which means kindle price is lower than paper book. I even noticed that the kindle price is less in US ( amazon.com) than amazon.in

I agree what mentioned earlier. Since there a revised version for the same book. It's not available in the bookJust awesome content, I wished had read this one long back.Specially mindset, how to sell architecture to others and so many other areas.

The Audible platform is not at all appropriate in Amazon. Either the system is managed by people without common sense or cheating Amazon customers by fake activities. Beware. Never buy a Ebook from Audible.

This is a first copy/photocopy. Complex diagrams are not at all clear. The readability is comprised.The paper quality is average and not worth putting 1600 bucks.
