This is a huge resource for starting a business. It's so big that you may find it overwhelming, as parts of it may not apply to your business. For instance, if you're starting a freelance business, you may find The Freelancers Bible or A Freelancers Survival Guide more on point. Whatever book and other resources you use, expect to adapt what they're saying to your specific business.

Great book lots of information

I opened this package as soon as it arrived and immediately started laughing. Ya'll, this book is over 800 pages lol no wonder the description says it's the only startup book you'll need. I flipped through it and it seems very informative and easy to understand and implement.

This was the book my college professor used as our textbook and it was very informative

Ever start a business and suddenly feel like there are huge gaps in your knowledge?I know the feeling.It's not very fun getting tax paperwork in the mail or trying to figure out marketing on your own.The bookstore had an insane amount of business-related books, but I narrowed it down to this one based on a few factors:- This is the most recent version, published 2021. It even mentions COVID so you know it's up-to-date.- It's an 8th Edition, which is some indication of lasting importance. Poor books usually don't get follow-up treatment.- A quick look at the table of contents (or the index) confirms that this book does indeed cover a lot of territory.Having now read the book, I am mostly satisfied as it has filled in a LOT of the missing gaps and misconceptions in my business knowledge. Marketing, Taxes, Employees, Inventories, Payment Methods, Business software . . . this book covers all that and more with lots of references to websites for even more information. There are even blank charts and checklists to help keep you organized and on the right track.The layout is nicely done, with almost every page including a smaller tip or warning to be aware of. Or even quotes from other business folk.The only negative I have is this -- because the book tries to cover every business type, you will inevitably end up reading a lot of material they may not even apply to you. In my case, I am a sole proprietor with a zero-inventory at-home software business with zero employees. So large sections about employees and shareholders and seasonal inventories were almost completely irrelevant. There are sections (usually paragraphs) that talk about solopreneurs/sole proprietors, but sometimes that knowledge might be tossed in the same chapter as everything else. You might have to do a little digging.I would have much preferred it if the book had dedicated "paths" that broke down the challenges for specific business types. For that reason, while I'm thankful for the knowledge gained from this book, I'm eager to find one that is more dedicated to the solopreneur experience.But for those who haven't already decided what business structure they want or for those that simply want a better understanding of business in general, this book still comes highly recommended.

This book is physically heavy. It needs to be to detail what you need to know to start your own business.Plenty of exercises.
