I love these things, but I used them on my shooting mat for the first time the other and they are tearing it up. Any suggestions????
I cant get the legs to retract on the model 40856 harris bipod ?
Spent hours trying to remove roll pins, no luck. The rubber harris feet cushion hammer blows and easily rotate, starrett punch and hammer won't do it.
is it normal to have play in the feet play meaning wobbling back in forth?

Essential for A Harris bipod

Installation took a while but only because Harris roll pins are so tightly installed. It took a long time to get the roll pins out of the Bipod and just as long to pound them back in once the spikes were attached. Just to clarify: this difficulty had nothing to do with the spikes.Once installed the spikes worked amazingly well and kept my rifle dug into whatever terrain I was firing from. They provide a much more stable shot than the rubber feet. It's extremely rare that I get an item from Amazon that is high quality, but this is definitely a high quality item.

Expensive/Necessary.

So far I have noticed a substantial difference in my ability to load the bipod. The assembly was a touch more difficult than I had hoped, as the roll pins took a massive amount of force to remove with nail punches (Yes I had many sizes and used the right one). The reassembly was much easier, but I had to cut the pins down a touch so they didn't stick out a quarter inch. Other than that they are good on all surfaces. I have worn mine down fast because of shooting on concrete/rooftops etc. during competitions. I felt they were a tad expensive..

Excellent product. The amount of grip these provide is incredible. The install is the only reason for 4 not 5 stars. If you have a self retracting bipod and want to keep that functionality, the install is not nearly as straight forward. Basically the bipod has to be completely disassembled to re attach the internal spring. The main bipod folding springs make this quite difficult. If you don't mind losing self retracting capability or have a leg notch model, installation wouldn't be bad.

A teeny bit tricky to install due to the shape- but this shape is the best for a reason

Rock-Solid.Love these. Read on for install tips: Get a buddy with some wood and clamps and roll pin starters, chamfer the pin ends first, start them with the pin starters, switch to a larger pin punch. Be patient, use yer noggin, goes right on. Spikes are best. They don't snag in veg, pick up mat fuzz, etc.like claws. They come out of the ground or whatever clean with one slap or tap and you don't end up flipping junk up onto you or onto the objective when you stow the legs. Git sum. Thanks to the Boy's @ Morse.

Package arrived opened and pins missing

Plastic had been cut by a razor blade and the pins were missing. No way whoever put this in the shipping package could not have noticed it. I need these for a match tomorrow and am disappointed in the lack of caring here. The spikes fit loosely but have some stainless steel shim stock I think will tightened them up some nicely. I do have a roll pin set so can make this work. BUT.....there are many people who don't have extra pins or the skill to fabricate. Not impressed so far.....

Right out of the box...

Right out of the box, the spiked feet install easily, but the roll pins are loose in my case.SEE INSTRUCTIONS if your roll pins are loose. With my single sample of the CVLife Harris bipod clone, the holes at the bottom of the bipod legs and the holes in the spiked feet where the roll pin is supposed to hold everything together are different. The holes are different enough that the roll pin will fall right out.I bent the roll pin ends and all is well. Plenty good for a basement operator.

the original roll pins from my Harris bipod would be rather long and I think would look bad sticking out over 1/8” on both sides

I broke my Harris bipod trying to hammer in the roll pin. Be careful when installing. I tried to crimp the roll pin with vice grips to make it a little smaller but my methods didn’t work. Maybe I could have sanded down the roll pins beforehand to make for a smaller diameter and a less tight fit. Or drill the holes a smidgen bigger. Also, the original roll pins from my Harris bipod would be rather long and I think would look bad sticking out over 1/8” on both sides. I would trim them down beforehand as well if I did it all over again. I think it’s a good product but just know that minor alterations are needed to install correctly. And don’t be like me and hammer too hard on your bipod.

Great for the dirt shooters

Pretty easy to install and the results are great. I shoot primarily in the dirt, so these really allow you to pre-load your bipods quite a bit without having the feet slip. I was worried initially about deformation when shooting off rocks or concrete, but I don't do that much and decided not to worry about it. Although I can't speak for the long term reliability yet, I really like them so far and plan to buy another set for my other bipods.
