Could be better
I bought this is a reminder for myself that time flows no matter what and that it is pointless to think about the past because you will waste you present and also your future. It's beautiful. The purple sand and everything. I keep it at my desk as a reminder. However, I did feel that the quality could have been better especially of the wood. The finishing of the wood is not that great when you look at it up close.

sand often stops falling
The timer works fine initially, but toward the end, the sand often stops falling as it seems to get stuck inside. I had to tap it gently for the sand to keep flowing. This defeats the purpose of a smooth, uninterrupted countdown, and makes it less reliable. Overall, not a great product due to this flaw.
