The lights work great. Remote is a little fussy but the cell phone app works great.Now for why I gave this kit a poor rating. They did not supply 20ft of 3m tape to install the channel. They supplied only 8 ft. There are only a few reasons for this…..1. Person who packed the lights did not realize that the 3m tape was a 8ft roll supplied with a 20ft lighting system. Well, they really should have unrolled the tape and used a tape measure. But alas, NO! Trip to Home Depot and guess what, they didnt have it. Neither did Ace Hardware so purchased a different brand that was wider. Had to cut down to use. PITA!2. Had an idiot who didn’t know how to pack in 20ft of 3m.3. Didn’t care if they had enough product to meet the advertised application.Bottom line, if you buy this kit, be ready to be shorted on material to apply the channel.I can’t say this was done intentionally, I can only state factually that it was 8 ft of 3m for the channel for a 20ft kit.Last but not least. 4 or 5 foot channel would have been much easier to install than the 12” pieces x 20 that was supplied.You have been warned.I cannot speak to the life of this product but will update after some operational time.

Installed this using existing wiring through the awning arm. After using it the first time and left it on overnight I noticed a bubble spot. Not sure how that happened but it's there. I don't see any difference in the light appearance. Will wait and see if more will pop up. Won't be fun to replace if it comes to that.

I purchased this kit since it was purposely designed and marketed for use on RV and travel trailers. The hardest part was figuring out where and how to feed the wire to a 12v power supply and not look like an afterthought.I chose to install mine in a LED aluminum channel with covers to make it look more like a factory install and to dull or mute the LED's since without the cover, you can see all the individual LED's and other electronics. Also, I didn't want to apply the lights directly to the trailer incase something happened and I needed to change them out. Having them installed in the channel will make this possible.The remote works good and you don't have to be directly in front of the controller for it to respond. I can stand 8-10ft from either end of our travel trailer and point in the direction of the controller and the lights respond. I also like the phone app, that was a nice feature.The only reason for the 4 star rating is that 3 red LEDS have already stopped working. And of course it had to be in the middle of strip as opposed to the end, where I could have cut them out. However, I'm not too upset, as it was more important that the white LED's were and continue to work. The rest of the disco features weren't a main draw for me.

I looked all over for a 12V LED strip for my RV awning. This was the only one I found that had a round wire connection to the controller, all others have a flat 4-pin. My 12V supply is inside over my door. I used a 1/2” drill bit to connect the 12V & sealed around the wire. I didn’t use the tracks & just used the 2 sided tape to apply it. I’m very happy with how it turned out! The app allows me to control the lights from my iPhone & it even has a timer function. I set it to turn on at 8pm & off at 1am. When turned up to 100%, they light up my entire patio area. 100% recommend this one!

Easy enough install using aluminum channels rather than the cheap plastic it came with. Seems quite bright even with a smoky clear plastic cover over black aluminum channels. App and remote seemed a little fussy at times. Strange I tried to take a video of the music mode and while playing the music I turned the camera on my iphone and went to video mode and the led's would shut off every time. I would have to go back into the music part of the app and start the music again

What a headache to need purchase more tape in the middle of an installation.They only provided 9 feet of 3M VHB to attach the mounting channel. Placing the lights into the channel has a learning curve to it, but eventually it worked and I only damaged a few areas where the light isn't as clear. Do add on additional time to get more tape or do so ahead of time. Overall project worked out on my RV.

While it looks to be a pretty decent set of lights, I do not like that the track comes in 20 individual, one foot sections or that you will have to drill a half inch hole in the side of your RV to accommodate the RGB output lead. You better have tons of space to mount this bad boy

I would think that when you order a 20 foot led light strip that at least 20 foot of mounting tape would be provided. There was only one 10 foot roll in the box. After a trip to the local Lowe's I was able to finish the install. Upon successful mounting came the moment of truth. I removed the strip that kept that is supposed to keep the battery fresh, pressed the buttons and nothing. I raided my wife's glucose monitor battery supply that had a fresh replacement, inserted it into the remote and the lights came on. The appear to do everything as advertised and the app worked as well. Time will tell if the lights are durable. I would have rated this a 5 star purchase if the problems shared above had not happened.
