I was fed up with my walker destroying the varnish on my hardwood floors, so decided to try buying two sets of these. I’m sure it’s not recommended, but I put the wheels on all 4 legs of my walker. I was concerned at first that it might cause the walker to get away from me, but the opposite is true. The back gliders that were on it before could easily glide in any direction, scraping up floor varnish in all directions while causing the walker to occasionally go in directions I wasn’t expecting. Having these on all four legs limits ALL motion to just forwards and backwards, though you can do gentle curves as well when walking forwards.. And being large wheels with real substance to them, they don’t really want to move on their own, when used indoors on a fairly level floor. And the best part is no more damage to my hardwood floors. Not a single scratch since switching to “four wheel drive.” And I feel much more secure using the walker now, which I hadn’t expected. Plus it takes much less effort to use. I guess all that floor varnish scratching was causing resistance on the old gliders. And the large wheels are much less bumpy when rolling than the smaller front wheels that came with the walker, making it no big deal to roll from hardwood floors into area rugs.

These replacement parts were made well and updated an older walker instead of buying a whole new one.

I used the replacement wheels and skis on my walker.i use the walker a lot out in the yard. The skis will glide thru the grass without having to physically lift the walker up to walk along.

As explained in other reviews, these wheels won’t work right out of the box with all walkers. I have an Invacare stainless steel Walker. I bought 2 sets of these so my Walker would roll easily. My son had to modify these because the holes in the shaft are 5/16th inch and the holes in my Walker legs are 3/8 inch. The locking button on my Walker couldn’t pop through the smaller holes so he drilled all the holes to 3/8 inch. Also my Walker has a connecting bar from front to back on each side that prevented the shaft of the wheels from sliding its full length. Cutting off some of the top of the shaft solved this problem. If the user is a tall person, cutting the shaft wouldn’t be necessary. Having 4 wheels on my Walker makes it so much easier to use.
