These short stories are incredibly well-written and show the development of Ann Patchett into the successful writer she has become. Although non-fiction they carry you along with all the strength of a powerful narrative arc - and for anybody interested in either writing themselves, or its process it is highly recommended.

Bought this book for my sister in law as a Christmas present as we found on the family tree she is related to the author. She enjoyed reading the book and loved the writing. Wonderful - couldn't stop reading.

Ann Patchett's writing is so clear and down to earth. I particularly like her description of the trip in the RV.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It is a collection of her magazine articles - some poignant some fun - all well written.
