Just buy it - it's great!
Easily the best multipen I've ever bought. It's my daily writer for my planner, and it goes everywhere with me.It's built like an absolute tank, takes a beating being thrown around by my kids, and still looks new.But it's also slim and easy to write with since it's the perfect size - it feels like a regular pen, since it's designed so well... nowhere near as bulky and cumbersome as other multipens that feel like you're writing with a log.The hexagonal barrel is nice since it doesn't roll around. The clip hasn't worn down despite being regularly stretched out.The D1 refills and the lead are both easy to replace. You won't need to replace the pencil lead because it's great, but you'll likely want to change the ink. There are a million D1 refills to choose from (I prefer jetstream, but ymmv). If this pen is in your decision set, just buy it.

REVIEW - rOtring 600 3-in-1 Multi-Pen, SILVER
rOtring Multi-Pen, SILVER, 600, 3-in-1, is an excellent ‘multi-pen’ writing instrument.I am one, who’s been a fan of ‘multi-pens’ well over 35 years - Which began in the 80's and my first rOtring and Staedtler purchases (and still have both). This ’600 3-in-1', was purchased back in early 2022, and to date has performed flawlessly... Even being somewhat ‘abused’ by a 3 and 8 yr old Grandsons... And still no issues. The pen is well made - constructed with quality materials - nicely finished - well-balanced for writing & drawing (although abit heavier then other pens) - And comfortable in use. (This from a 70+ yr old guy, with some arthritis and double CMC surgeries, too)Your ink/lead selection is pretty straight forward and presents no issues, and is solid; Simply rotate the pen’s knurled cap - Easy. (Do note - This model has no eraser, as most ‘trio’ pens have)Regarding the ink ‘refill’, the ‘600' using standard “D-1" mini ink cartridges; readily available either here at Amazon or other internet sources. rOtring’s ink is fine, but I prefer a more permanent oil-ink, to their’s. And your leads are standard .05mm, also easily purchased. The rOtring is a great multi-pen - True, it is abit spendy (shop around and you can find it for under $35.00) compared to other’s out there. But, will you ever wear it out; very doubtful, you will - My 22 yr old Granddaughter uses an early version, of one of my rOtring “Trio Pen’s”; used it through college and now uses it her workplace and absolutely loves it... Go figure. Simply put, they are well built pens.If you are looking for a decent - well-built ‘multi-pen’, which writes well and is comfortable, you might want to consider the “600 3-in-1", by rOtring. It is food-for-thought. I know, I like mine.A guy, whom always has a pen -

Well worth it.
This is a very nice pen/pencil. It has a perfect weight to it without being bulky. However, there is no eraser on it so youll have to carry one around or have one handy. Also the inks initially come with color indicators at the tips, but those wear off and then you have to guess and make marks to see what color your getting. But that is minor. This pen is still very much worth getting. The ink cartages are pretty universal, so when they run out, just order another set. Same with the lead. I might have to get the silver on now just because.

Minor flaws but I love it
Never used a multipen but have always loved Rotring so I though I'd try it out since I needed something for school. The mechanism to switch between the pencil and 2 pens works great but not as satisfying as the 800's click. Out the box the black ink straight up did not write. It's worth checking around first for the price of D2 refills because they were pricier than I though and I wouldn't be confident that they last very long. The red ink was fine and the pencil is good but kinda akward to refill since you have to remove the whole barrel, not a big deal though. I don't like that the barrel of the pencil part is plastic especially considering the 3in1 cost $40 so I can only hope that it'll hold up over time. Lastly, there's no eraser in the end cap like there typically is which is worth noting. Otherwise though I do love the 3in1 because it's beautiful and satisfying to hold. Good weight like all Rotrings and thicker than a normal 600 for obvious reasons but not so much its hard to hold.

Great you!
Very very heavy in hand. Almost feels overengineered but if you like something to play with it’s the perfect pen

Perfect item for draftsmen
Perfect item for draftsmen. High quality and unusual mechanism pen-pencil. As for Rotring, my favourite brand of pens and pencils. Have plenty products of it and all of htem still works as new after several years of daily use.

There are better options
It’s a quality pen but it is a little too bulky/heavy. I don’t care for the fact that you cannot click to hide the ink. You must twist the cap and there isn’t a locking mechanism. You just have to twist halfway to the next ink. But it is a very nice pen otherwise. I am going to pick up the original Rotring 600 because I don’t care for the 3 in 1. Would not recommend.
