This isn't a trivet!
When I opened up the box, I found a little card stating: "This product is not intended to withstand excessive heat. Although protected against moisture, do not let it stand in water or other liquids for long periods of time as this will affect the finish." The entire purpose of a trivet is to withstand heat and water. This is not a trivet. It's a decoration in the form of a trivet. At the time of this writing, this is not clearly stated in the product description.
