You need a working knowledge of Home Assistant to get the most out of this.
Got this to link my hot water heater to my solar panels so that when the sun shines the water heats up. Nice piece of kit. You do need to know your way around Home Assistant to get it working. Others have said you can't update it - you can and that there are no Supervisor functions - there are. I contacted support about a question I had and I was replied to within a few hours. Very impressed. All in all very happy.

Useless
Another Chinese waste of money and time. Memory failed on 2 units after a few months. Cheap crap memory is what I was told when I went to a 3rd party to try and fix it. Could not read from memory in both cases so couldn’t even restore it as the backup could not be read! Go for a sub £100 micro PC which is also upgradable. AVOID- it will cost you a lot more money to move over to a reliable platform once this one fails, again and again!

A reasonable starting point for experimenting with Home Assistant
I bought this SAMOTECH All-in-One Zigbee Hub with Home Assistant OS to use as a testbed to experiment with Home Assistant. I had planned to purchase a Raspberry Pi 4 and embed it into a more mainstream Home Assistant device, but Raspberry Pi 4 devices are as rare as hen’s teeth currently. Two months on, I’ve got all sorts of devices being monitored and a number being controlled by Home Assistant using this SAMOTECH device. I’ve still got a lot to learn about Home Assistant, but this device has convinced me that Home Assistant has a place in my home, and if I have time in the home of a relative whom I look after. It could be an absolute godsend for those caring for vulnerable people in a different home. Once I have learnt more about Home Assistant, I might replace this SAMOTECH unit with something else (possibly a new SAMOTECH hub that I hear is being produced), whether due to running out of storage, processing power, compatibility issues with other devices, or lack of supervisor functions. However, it is serving its purpose, both as a learning tool and automating quite a bit of stuff around the house.Note that as per pretty much everything to do with Home Assistant, it is assumed that you already know about Home Assistant. It’s a vicious circle, that hopefully will be resolved one day. YouTube seems to be the place to start, rather than trying to find a book on the subject. I’ve been a professional techie for 40 years and I still have no clue what experienced Home Assistant users are talking about half of the time.[Edit: I've been in touch with SAMOTECH support this week and they have been fantastic, helping me to get Bluetooth working using this hub with a USB dongle]Recommended.

Excellent bit of kit for a low-effort Home Assistant install
While there's definitely a bit of knowledge needed to use this to its full potential, the included instruction sheet gives you enough information to set it up. The end result is a Home Assistant install with Zigbee support and without having to mess with your own hardware to achieve it. Well worth buying.

Good but
It’s good but you need to understand the technical side not a plug in and go

Great HA hub.
This is a great hub with HA pre installed, simply migrated my HA instance from iMac from a backup. Also moved all my Zigbee Hive and TRÅDFRI to this hub with ease, they work better and have exposed more features than their native hubs.Highly recommend!
