If you can keep it going it works ok.
I have wanted a robot mower forever as I have two Roomba's in the house and I thought the engineering would be similar. They are not perfect but rarely fail. I've had this mower about 6 months and it is a daily chore to keep it running. The boundary wire is a big part of the problem. It's a huge pain to set it up, unlike when you watch the videos. You have to stake it about every foot or so to avoid line cuts. If your yard is irregular or bumpy, get ready to repair lots of line cuts. It comes set on the highest cut setting, which is very low even for Bermuda grass. There is no way this would mower would work for St Augustine or any grass which cannot be cut very low. You have no way of knowing the mower has stopped as it only has bluetooth and doesn't notify you. You will find it in random places where it decides to stop or has cut its own wire. (I bought two boxes of extra stakes to stake the wire down). It often will not find it's docking station despite painstaking troubleshooting on my part. Recently, the guide wire degraded but did not break and it stopped. I bought a line signal device and tried to locate the internal wire break. No luck. Replaced several section, no luck. Finally ripped up the wire and replaced it with another wire I ordered on Amazon. No luck. It didn't like that wire, which was a generic for robot mowers. Had to pay $100 bucks for the companies wire. Take my advice and spend the money to get a robot mower with wifi and one that does not require a boundary wire. Or buy an Ego push mower, which I also have, that has never malfunctioned.Update 03-24 I finally gave up on it and trashed it. It kept saying "No boundary wire" and I tried every internet solve. Bought a wire break tester and it showed no breakage. Replaced with a totally new boundary wire off Amazon and got the same message. Then purchased the boundary wire from the manufacturer or the mower (which is expensive) and relayed the whole thing again and still got the same error. I spend so many hours and a lot of cash trying to resolve the issue with no luck. Updated the software, reset the app, reset the base. I would not recommend anyone to buy a robot mower that will not run without a boundary wire.

Great mower for Hawaii
I live in Waimea on the Big Island of Hawaii and have a Kikuiyu yard. This thing is surprisingly really good. It’s definitely worth the money but you’ll have to put in some work to get it setup properly so that it doesn’t require too much maintenance. I’d recommend burying the boundary wire and the guide wire after a few weeks. I just used an edger to make a cut in the grass then push the wire into the kerf. You might want to lay it on the ground at first to find out how the mower cuts before burying it. I found that you don’t need a boundary wire around most obstacles like a kids play set and swings. The mower will just bump into walls and obstacles then just change direction and keep cutting. I found it cuts closer to walls if the wire is right up against them. You might want to stay about 3 inches away from concrete slabs and driveways so it cuts closer to the edge but not right on the edge in case you want to use an edger. Also when I got the mower it had a security pass code on it already and I almost returned the thing because resetting the code requires an old style usb and a computer. But I luckily guessed the code and it started working. The code I guessed was up, left, down, right, then hit the check mark in the middle. Just counter clockwise from the top. Usually during setup you set the code but for some reason it already had one.

Pretty decent little dude
The media could not be loaded. I'm definitely happy with this purchase. I know, left to my own devices, my lawn would soon be a jungle. I am a fabulous unicorn. Fabulous unicorns do not do ... "Mowing". So enters "Bob Villa" my robot friend. The video is his inaugural run in my yard. It's a little overgrown because we've had sunshine and rain like our town is gunning to be the next rainforest (listen to the birds lol). So Bob has his work cut out for him. He can handle up to a 25% slope, so things like the rock he encountered in my yard the he can go over, but drags belly on, need to be marked off.Pros: little guy had decent movement power and obstacle solving abilities. There's also the ability to have the little dude start at a point and spiral out if the jagged pattern doesn't work for you. Charged fairly quickly. He does handle uneven ground fairly well as long as it's not too uneven. Then he will eventually try from another angleCons: you REALLY Have to put the pins on the boundary cord every 2.5 or so feet to keep little guy from getting tangled. He's fairly low to the ground, so this is VERY important. Also, super important, look about halfway on my video, there's a big rock. It's low enough for him to not consider an obstacle, so he sparked out and got stuck on it. So there's a learning curveIf you have a lawn area with a lot of roots, you may want to exclude that from his mowing area. He tries, but his clearance leaves a little to be desired unless you already have a perfect lawn and just want it maintained.I will probably update as he gets to more of the lawn and we work out all of the things that he has trouble with.

PIN number missing so impossible to use it
I was very happy to buy it used almost new but there is a PIN from the 1st owner and it was impossible to get it. I called Amazon, I called Gardena to recover it, I stayed hours on the phone, they sent me an email to confirm what I was asking and nothing!I called again talk with someone else but they were not able to help me, Gardena has a bad customer service.I returned the robot, too complicated and too long! Be aware if it’s used you might not have the PIN…..
