After 1 week of use! (See photo)
Im 29 years old and I have had a problem with cystic acne. I have seen dermatologists and tried many products. I used proactive when the product was first made, when i was in middle school.. it worked. I only stopped using it because i was being cheap lol.Now im almost 30 and breaking out due to me being a covid nurse wearing n95 masks all day. My mom told me “Girl stop playing and go back to using proactive “So i did. Because of the severity of my acne, i decided to try to strongest formula with is the proactive MD.I took a picture before use and then 7 days later took another picture. It has significantly helped my skin in ONE week. Reduced more pore size, exfoliate a large amount of dead skin, and before use i had over 10 deep cystic pimples and now i have about 3. My face is smoother, and looking healthier and not as oily as before.*Disclaimer* now it is strong, my face did mildly burn after the first couple uses BUT my face got USED to it and now its a no brainer. Please give it a try.

I've used Proactivin the best and it did work for my skin though the ...
I've used Proactiv in the past and it did work for my skin though the benzoyl peroxide was a bit too harsh and always needed to be mixed with a thick moisturizer so as not to dry out my skin. This version of Proactiv is MUCH better for my oily sensitive skin that scars very easily. The adapalene is not as harsh as the BP even though it takes a longer time to see full results. Also, the toner is gentle enough that it doesn't strip my skin of all its natural oils. I love that I don't have to overwhelm my skin with an acne product - the adapalene- twice a day and only use this at night; the sunscreen is great because as a darker skinned woman it does not leave a white cast on my face (this is a miracle given all sunscreens I've tried leave white streaks on my face). If adapalene is too harsh for your skin, try mixing it with a heavier moisturizer. It will take longer to work but you won't be a dry peeling mess the next morning. Mixing the moisturizer with adapalene could be even better than layering the moisturizer over it (in my experience mixing the two cuts back the dryness a considerable amount). Not every product will work on every skin type though. Just because this works for me, doesn't mean it'll work for everyone. As with most things in life trial and error is key...

Amazing product! Worth EVERY cent!
I used proactive as a teenager and it did not work for me. I eventually “grew out” of my acne until a few weeks ago. I’m not sure if a new medicine/stress/having kids/or just getting older caused my skin to start breaking and become super greasy but my regular daily wash and occasional face mask were no longer cutting it. I was waking up every day with more and more large pimples that would last for days. I came across and was hesitant because I have very very VERY fair skin with freckles. But, I took a chance and I am SO HAPPY I did. I bought this and yes it did irritate my skin a little in the first few days but I’m on day 10 and can not BELIEVE the transformation my skin has undergone. My skin is almost blemish free/it is soooooo soft/even toned/and looks and feels like it did in my 20s. I am so impressed I have already ordered the clay mask and the skin care brush to enhance my face washing experience. I’m getting married in a few months and can’t wait to walk down the aisle with glowing skin!

So far, so good.
I've been having decent results with Differin adapalene gel, but I didn't like their face wash, so I thought I'd give Proactiv MD a shot. I just got my delivery yesterday, so I'll update my review in a few weeks.Face wash: I love the face wash. The microbeads aren't too abrasive, and it left my skin feeling clean and smooth. 5/5Toner: The toner is decent. It dries fast and you don't have to use a lot to get full coverage. 5/5Moisturizer: The moisturizer is the reason I didn't give five stars. My skin still feels dry. To be fair, people with acne prone skin need to use oil-free moisturizers like this one, and I haven't found one I liked. 3/5Adapalene gel: It takes weeks for adapalene to work, so I'll hold off on rating this one.Other products I'm using: I just started taking Swanson Epic Probiotic Blend. It contains a probiotic strain that balances skin microbiome, so I thought it might be relevant when I update my review.

Mixed Feelings about this Product
I am currently having difficulties with hormonal acne which has been hard to control. When I was a teenager, I had light breakouts due to hormones and I got proactive back when it was the original formula. I LOVED proactive during this time as I had no acne or breakouts ever. However, not that I am older experiencing worse acne issues, I thoughts I would try proactive again since it worked so well when I was younger which was at least 10-15 years ago. Firstly, I do love the feeling of the cleanser as it is a light scrub. After use, my skin does feeling smoother and softer. I also think that the toner helped tone my skin as I noticed a decrease in redness from the acne after only a couple of uses with this.Once I started using this proactive as a part of my skin routine, I did notice some differences; the acne around my chin was mostly gone and I didn't break out in this area of my face and like I said, the toner helped with the redness. I thought i noticed a difference with the acne with my forehead which is my worst breakout zone. However, once the hormones started to do their thing, the proactive did not prevent the breakouts in this area. After about a month of using this product, the acne on my forehead and around my hairline keeps popping up where's the rest of my face is doing fairly well. Because of this, I am disappointed with proactive.I also bought this product when it was priced at $28. Now that it is priced at $44, the size of the bottles you get for this price is ridiculous. I was willing to pay $28 for small bottles if it cured all of my acne, but now with the price increase, I think its not worth it for the problems that I am still having.
