very useful wifi 6/wpa3 router
The wifi on our provider supplied interface/router was not reliable, old, and hard to configure. You need that router to connect to our ISP and access the Internet, so I turned off the unreliable wifi on the ISP's router and connect the WAN port of the TP-Link AX75 to the primary ethernet port on the ISP's router. So far everything has been great. My wife likes to stream Japanese TV, but you have to be in Japan, or to connect to a VPN server in Japan, to do it. The AX75 has several options for setting up devices as VPN clients, so I set up a client connection from the router to a Japanese VPN server, and designated her TV as a device that uses the VPN connection. It works really well that way, and all of the configuration is in the router; the TV itself requires no special software. Been using for a month or so, and it is working well. The TP-Link iPhone client is very handy, except for advanced settings. You can do advanced settings on the phone: you just have to do it through a web browser, and a laptop or desktop browser is a much better interface for that. For normal things like checking clients, firmware updates, and rebooting the router when needed, the phone client is pretty good. Data transfer between clients on the LAN network is excellent.

Thank you TP-Link!!!!!!
I have an Arris modem router combo similar to or the same as the one Comcast (Xfinity) used to rent to their customers. It is a few years old. I bought my own so I didn't have to pay the monthly rental. Wifi signal wasn't the best and it wasn't wifi 6 so I thought I would give this TP-link a try. This router is awesome! I thought I would have to buy an access point to reach the other side of the house. Nope. Signal is great. I used to run cat5 because it is was so much faster than wireless. I don't know about that anymore. I have about 300 down and 10 up. The wireless speeds are very close to wired speeds.Sidepoint: If you have a modem router combo I suggest you turn off it's radio and just connect wirelessly to the router.

VPN is impossible to set up and customer service is not helpful.
I bought this for the VPN capability. The VPN is not built in but must be configured through OpenVPN. The process is literally impossible with the very complicated configruration prodeedure.

Excellent Telephone Customer Supppotrt
Shout out to Rommel Tamondong from TP-Link Telephone Customer Support for his patient, clear and focused assistance in working through a connectivity problem on my system. As a non-tech person I greatly appreciate the kind of detailed assistance he offered to resolve issues I do not intuitively understand and would not be able to overcome on my own. I hope Mr. Tamondong is appreciated by his employers as well as the availability of the level of support he provides not only helps users but widens the pool of customers for their products ‹‹‹‹‹‹‹‹to include users outside the tech world.
