This worked great to fix an old Rock Band drum set where one of the cymbals stopped working due to a broken wire on the piezo sensor. I saw these sensors on Amazon and ordered them. My Rock Band drums now work again, and I have some extras in case I need them in the future. Additionally, I might find a use for them with Arduino projects, as I have some experience programming with Arduino and ESP8266. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

This type of sensor cannot be taken with any kind of precision, yes - it can let you know when a shock is experienced, but not a sustained shock. This is a cleaver use of piezo element, but if yours looking for any sort of accurate motion detection I would not rely on this as the output is erratic and it can be for non movement reasons. Understand this is a vibration sensor, not movement and because of the piezo element it can be influenced by the environment (humidity, temp).The input port on this breakout board is also a terrible choice for this gauge of wire -- your going to have to solder it on as the terminals on this will allow the wire to slide out quite easily.On the plus side this is way less expensive compared to an accelerometer if your just trying to answer the question "is this thing vibrating" which is enough to tell if a lot of things, especially things with motors are "on" or "off".

What can I say about this item it works they way it supposed to. I used it with an Arduino to use it as cheap speaker. There are several good tutorial on YouTube on how to do this. What is really nice about this item is that it comes with the little board so that you don't have to solder anything. Simply you just need a screwdriver to attach the wires to the board and you are ready to put it on a breadboard or use some DuPont connectors. Good product.
