This is a good compact unit. Lots of maneuvering needed to get it across a big chart. I think maybe I should've purchased a larger size.

Ok but to small to really use

Small but Mighty
I bought this because I am a small boat owner and may be working from chart books or self-printed charts on 8.5x11. I have not tested its usefulness as such. In my USCGA Nav class, I used it successfully, though because of its short length, a bit of gymnastics is required. The build quality is typical top-notch Weems&Plath. A gorgeous, well-made tool.
