Q: Does it leave a silicon or any strange taste? Can you use it to bake a cake?

I don’t have the answer if you can use it to bake cakes- I use it to freeze broth and canned soups/purée. I don’t notice any silicon taste.

Q: Anyone bake small cakes in these?

I have in the Souper Cubes and I often bake in Culinary Concepts hamburger molds, but I haven’t tried in these yet. They are a lighter weight silicone than the others. If you try it I would recommend a small tray underneath to protect from the wire oven shelf.
