Great bowl! Trouble? Read this!!
This is a great bowl but mine arrived without any instructions other than an advertisement for the filters and how to install them. Initially I thought it was missing parts like the bowl and a cap that I describe later. I hope this review saves others time and frustration in case yours does not have instructions like mine. The box contains the reservoir on the top and in a false bottom I later discovered, the bowls. I almost returned mine because I thought parts were missing! The top of the reservoir contains a black plastic ring that covers the molded portion of the reservoir itself. Both pieces function as a handle to carry the filled or empty jug and as a way to lock the reservoir in place to the bowl after you refill the bottle. It also allows the top part to lay flat on the floor for refilling or screwing on the filling cap.ASSEMBLY: I have included photos of what the bottom screw on lid looked like on arrival. Note the center bottom hole is open.1) If you do NOT plan to use the optional charcoal filters, there is a cap sitting on a post that you MUST use to cover this center hole or your reservoir will overfill. I suspect this is the reason some complain of overfilling. As there were no directions, I missed this little cap at first. See the pictures that I provided. This cap sits in a post on the fill cap that is easy to miss.2) IF you plan to use the filters, these come with black valve that fits into the hole so you MUST put the cap on its post to have it work properly. The filter will not work unless you take this cap off so water can flow through the filter mechanism.FILLING: You cannot fill this from the top as some reviews suggested. It fills from the bottom but it has a cap that screws on the bottom to prevent spilling and leaking while you are carrying or installing the reservoir to the bowl. Water comes out of that spring loaded valve once the reservoir is locked in place. I am older but had no issues carrying the filled reservoir. Even filled, the container was not too heavy.BOWL DEPTH: Some reviews stated their bowls were not sufficiently deep. We have two larger dogs including a 105 lb German Shepherd and at least for the large size we ordered it works for either dog. The bowl is about 3-4 inches deep on the front where they drink so that is more than sufficient for most dogs.WATER FLOW/NOISE: I noticed very little noise while the water flows into the dish. You hear a faint glug but it should not wake one up or be bothersome for most. It does fill somewhat slowly when first filling the bowl from empty but my dogs had no issue getting the water they needed while drinking. Having too small a dish for your dog may cause issues I suppose. Those who report loud glugging sounds may want to check that their center hole cap is secured (if not using a filter). I have not used a filter yet so I cannot comment on sounds it may make with that installed.Sorry for the long review but I hope it solves some issues that others reported and helps those trying to figure it out if there are no instructions in the box like mine.

Easy to use,. Convenient. Healthy for our fur babies.
Convenient. Use everyday to provide fresh water for my free roam fur baby bunny (its not just for cats and dogs). It's a good quality, toxic free plastic, not flimsy. Gravity fed, it functions as it should and Fills the bowl and stops when it is supposed to..although there is a trick to setting it up right to avoid over flows which another user's video tip was a big help in avoiding over flow mishaps.. which is simply leaving the flap on the lid open before inserting it into the bowl base. I Like the healthy anti bacterial properties of the stainless steel bowl.

Good but not perfect
I like that the dish is metal, which was my main requirement to reduce bacteria growth. I didn't have much of an issue with the fact the large compartment is made of plastic, but there remains to be a plastic smell after several washes. This is a bit off putting. The dish itself is a bit too large in my opinion, as someone who dumps and cleans the dish every day, there is a lot of water wasted, and since I use a dental water additive, I'm also wasting a bit of that too. My cat hasn't attempted to knock it down ever.

Best water bowl I have used so far.
I was in a rush so I bought a different brand seld waterer and regretted it. You had to fill the resevoir, and when placing in the bowl it was awkward and spilled water everywhere. This one is fantastic! You fill it up and it has an easy carry handle, and does not spill or leak when putting into the actual bowl. Paid for one gotnrid of it and went with this. So glad I did!

I highly recommend this
Works exactly as it should! My one tip is to make sure you pull the plug at the bottom before placing it into the dish part so that the water dispense is nicely and you don't get frustrated wondering why it doesn't. My cat loves it!

Average Gravity Water Station with Some Drawbacks
I recently purchased the PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station for my pets, and while it offers some convenience, there are a few drawbacks that prevent it from receiving a higher rating. On the positive side, the gravity waterer design of this station provides a continuous supply of water for my pets without the need for frequent refills. This can be particularly helpful for busy pet owners or when I am away for longer periods of time, ensuring that my pets have access to water throughout the day.The medium-sized 1-gallon capacity is suitable for smaller to medium-sized pets and provides an ample water supply. The stainless steel bowl is a commendable feature, as it resists corrosion and holds up well to frequent use. It is also removable, making it easy to clean and maintain.Refilling the water station is relatively easy, as the top portion can be easily lifted off for quick filling. This saves time and effort compared to traditional water bowls that need to be refilled individually. The convenience of this design is appreciated. It's worth noting that the water station is compatible with filters, which can help improve the water's quality by reducing impurities and odors. This is a nice option for pet owners who want to ensure their pets have access to clean and fresh water. However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. Firstly, the design of the water station makes it prone to algae growth and slime buildup if not regularly cleaned and maintained. This requires more frequent cleaning compared to traditional water bowls, which can be time-consuming.Additionally, the gravity system can sometimes result in water spillage or leakage, especially if the water station is not placed on a level surface. This can create a mess and potentially damage nearby flooring or carpets. Ensuring proper placement and monitoring the water level is necessary to avoid such issues.Lastly, the size of the water station may not be suitable for larger pets or households with multiple pets. The 1-gallon capacity may require more frequent refills in such cases, reducing the convenience that the gravity design is intended to provide. In conclusion, the PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station offers convenience and a continuous water supply for smaller to medium-sized pets. The stainless steel bowl and easy refill design are positive aspects. However, the potential for algae growth, water spillage, and limited capacity for larger pets are drawbacks to consider. If you have smaller pets and are willing to commit to regular cleaning and maintenance, this water station can be a convenient option. However, for households with larger pets or those seeking a low-maintenance solution, alternative options with larger capacities may be more suitable.
