Great Experience with the REDTIGER F4 Dash Cam for My 2024 Honda CRVI recently installed the REDTIGER F4 dash cam in my 2024 Honda CRV, and so far, I’m extremely impressed with its performance. The installation process was straightforward and quick, especially with the optional hardwiring kit (sold separately). Once installed, the camera has been running smoothly, providing 24-hour recording without any issues. Just be sure to check the locked folders for footage when needed.Connecting the camera to the app was hassle-free, although if you're using CarPlay or have driving mode enabled on your phone, you’ll need to turn those off to avoid any connectivity issues with the REDTIGER Wi-Fi.The only minor drawback I encountered was the cable length—it was just a bit short for my preferred placement, but I still managed to route it to the fuse box under the steering wheel without any problem.Overall, I’m very satisfied with the REDTIGER F4. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking to add a reliable dash cam to their vehicle!

July 5, 2025:I've successfully installed the Redtiger F4 dashcam in my car, along with the OBD kit, which now enables the use of parking mode. The setup was straightforward, and I've opted not to install the rear camera for a simpler configuration. With the OBD connection, the camera can now monitor the vehicle even when parked. Interestingly, the recent spell of cooler weather here in North Carolina seems to be keeping the unit's operating temperature down, as the inside of the car has been noticeably cooler. The dashcam itself has remained less hot to touch compared last time. And probably because the dashcam is in parking mode.Update July 1, 2025: An update on my experience with the F4 dashcam: after my initial review, Redtiger customer service reached out to address my concerns about overheating. They explained that the main chip generates heat during operation and the dashcam's case is designed to act as a heatsink, dissipating that heat. They assured me this is a normal and safe function of the device. Furthermore, they highlighted that the F4 dashcam is batteryless, which completely eliminates any risk of battery-related overheating, a common concern with other electronics.They also advised that for the parking mode feature, their proprietary Redtiger OBD kit must be used. The third-party kit I had initially tried was incompatible, leading to performance issues. The Redtiger OBD kit will be arriving soon and will be testing the parking mode feature again shortly. I will provide another update on its performance soon. Lastly, when reaching out to Redtiger, be patient since they might be located outside US. They are very accommodating to customer concerns and will work with you to improve your product experience.Previous review: Redtiger F4 dash cam offers a compelling package for budget-conscious drivers. Its tough touchscreen and intuitive interface, reminiscent of an action camera, make it surprisingly user-friendly. The ability to record both front and rear views is a significant plus, offering comprehensive coverage, and the inclusion of an extra car mount is a thoughtful bonus.However, there are a few notable drawbacks. Parking mode functionality is absent when powered via OBD, requiring a separate hardwire kit for 24/7 monitoring. The unit can also become extremely hot during operation, which is a concern for long-term durability. Furthermore, using the rear camera downgrades the overall recording resolution, a compromise for dual-channel recording. Despite these cons, the F4 remains a solid, affordable option for everyday driving surveillance. I needed to return the item because the cons. I used a powerbank selfie stick in the picture to test out the dashcam after cooling the dashcam indoor.

It does the job, but I didn't like three things:1. The way to connect with the phone is inconvenient, and I don't do it much for that reason.2. Voice commands don't always pick3. It doesn't have a battery at all, so shaking the power cable or turning off the car for a minute will make you out of recording!!Other than that, the video quality and night vision are good. The cable length is perfect and more than needed to take the longest hidden route.

I am adjusting my review. after the issue with the time date stamp. the sellers did reach out to me after I had dropped off the device at the ups store to be returned. they did offer to assist in the way the 800 number could not. they did offer me to provide a rear dash cam that is compatible with dash cam. unfortunately, I had already returned the product. I would have considered the offer, and I would have paid for the device, even though they went above and beyond to make the matter right. I do commend them and will be keeping the F9 version. I am pleased with the quality, and functionality of the device. it was easy to set up besides the time settings. but the rear camera with the F9 cam worked with the F4 dash cam. even though I was told it was not compatible. but overall, If the dash cam had come with a rear camera, I could have overlooked the time issue. but I will give the seller my thanks for trying to make everything right with me.
