I've had the gimbal for about a week, still learning all the functions on the gimbal as well as the Hohem phone app.My initial reaction was that the build quality was very great. It has a rubber coating on the handle which helps in not slipping.Can hold up to a 500 gram payload. This can be your phone with an additional lens if you use one.The best feature I’ve found from this gimbal is the face and object tracking feature. It works very well. You can use hand gestures, the app or the touch screen controller to activate tracking.Once activated, it follows very well, even when there are multiple people in frame (it knows which one it's tracking). This is great when you’re working alone so the camera follows you.The best is it has the AI tracker camera built into the gimbal. Just above where the phone is.So you don’t have to use your phones camera for tracking.The AI tracker is removable and reversible for selfie shots. It also had a RGB light which is great to light your subject and is adjustable for both RGB color and color temperature from 2700 to 6500 Kelvin as well as brightness.The controller detaches from the gimbal which is great so you can have the gimbal on a tripod or table and see what your camera is seeing. Change framing, start and stop recording as well as tracking and change other settings. ,So you don’t have to physically be with the gimbal to control it.The basic gimbal as a stabilized camera platform works great as well. You can do all the camera movements like other gimbals and it’s very stable.The case was unexpected to be of this great quality. It’s a semi hard case so no worries about your gimbal being damaged. It fits back in the case flat which is great.All motors can be locked as well so if you’re carrying it in a backpack the motors won’t move around.As a bonus, the gimbal has a built in extension pole. It goes to 193mm which is great for selfie or a more dramatic crane shot.

The media could not be loaded. I've had a couple of weeks to use this gimbal, and by now I have a lot of thoughts about it -- all good. To summarize, it has exceeded my expectations. My initial reaction was that the build quality was very solid, and actually quite similar to the Ronin RS3 I have (a gimbal for professional cameras weighing many times more than a phone).In terms of functionality, the killer feature of this gimbal is the face tracking feature. It works phenomenally well. It is extremely accurate in detecting the hand gestures (the "ok" and "stop" signals) and I haven't had a single case where it failed to detect the signal or when it detected a signal when I wasn't doing it. Once activated, it follows very well, even when there are multiple people in frame (it knows which one it's tracking). I've uploaded a video showing the tracking in action. It works great when I'm trying to solo record a video of myself talking, product demonstrations, etc.The fact that the controller detaches is pretty awesome, so I can see that what it's tracking and can control the gimbal without having to physically reach behind it.The table stakes basic gimbal functionality is great, of course. It allows me to perform camera movements similarly to how I would do it on my Ronin with a larger camera and lens.One additional benefit that I wasn't really expecting is that it's easy to fold up flat and put back into its case, which is always a pain to do with larger gimbals I've had in the past. The three axes have locking mechanisms to keep it from spinning around when not in use (though they don't auto-lock; you have to do it manually).The AI tracker camera (it sits right above the phone mount) also comes with a RGB light. This isn't super useful to me since I have external studio lighting where I shoot, but the yellow/white range could be handy in a pinch, since my iPhone itself doesn't have adjustable color temp. The Kelvin temperature can be adjusted using the big knob/wheel on the gimbal (it can also be configured to do other things if you prefer).To summarize, I really like this product and highly recommend it if you're looking for a good gimbal with some really useful extras.

Professional quality and affordable. However, the gimbal only works properly with the Hohem app which is terrible and lacking updates and sync abilities with iOS. Irritable frustrations with limited templates and template functionality. If you had someone to operate the gimbal instead of letting AI control it is a very good gimbal
