GoWISE USA (Silver 1)

This is a pretty cool scale. It looks amazing, measures your weight, body fat percentage, body water, muscle, and bone percentage. It also remembers which person is stepping on the scale (as long as you and the others you program into the scale are more than a few pounds different in weight). Pretty impressive.So, why the 2-star treatment? One day the scale told me that I had lost 4 lbs. since the day before. Impressive, but I don't remember doing anything that drastic. I mentioned it to my wife and she said that she had noticed the scale giving drastically different readings after stepping off and back on again a minute or so later. So, I tested it. Sure enough, it said I had lost another 3 lbs. Then I tried again 30 seconds later. Uh oh, gained 4 more. Clearly there was a problem.I called the support line for GoWISE USA - I had to make sure to do it right after work because they are only open during Mountain Time business hours. The customer support person had me take out the batteries and replace them. Same thing happened. Then I thought it might be because we have weird tile in the bathroom. So, I moved it to the kitchen (flat linoleum surface) and measured twice. Several pounds different. The customer support rep told me there was obviously something wrong with the scale.He gave me the address to ship the scale to and told me that they would refund my money or replace the scale and that they would reimburse me for shipping. Good deal. We sent the scale to them using the cheapest, trackable shipping method (which cost almost as much as the scale). A week or so later we got an email telling us that they had received the scale, tested it, and found nothing wrong (apparently the troubleshooting the customer service rep did with us was meaningless and we don't know how to use the scale). They would be refunding us our money. A refund was issued from Amazon...for the amount of the scale. So I asked the next question: we were told that you would pay for our shipping. What about that? Oh, well, because we tested your scale and found that nothing was wrong, we aren't going to pay for the shipping. So, apparently they weren't going to honor the statement made by their customer service rep. If we had known we weren't going to be refunded for the shipping, we would have saved ourselves the hassle, the time, and the money and just dealt with Amazon directly.Bottom line: pretty cool scale that has lots of great features. But if you get a defective one like we did, know that their customer support is not helpful at best and dishonest at worst. Do yourself a favor and choose a scale from another manufacturer such as the Eat Smart Precision Get Fit Digital Body Fat Scale that is replacing this one.

Considering the low price, I gave this guy an extra star. If it was anywhere near the list price, it would only get three from me. Seems to always have an extra 4.4 pounds when I first step on it, so I have to get off, wait 10 seconds or something for it to tare, then get back on. The weight is displayed pretty quickly, and in a few more seconds it starts to cycle through the measurements. Weight seems accurate enough. The other measurements I have no idea about, but at least they seem reasonably consistent. To keep things consistent, it is best to weigh in with some consistency. Those additional measurements definitely can change a bit depending on when and how much I've eaten or drank (actually, I find it half way entertaining to see how much they change).

Shipment was fast and well packaged and even survived USPS throwing it about 20 feet to my door rather than taking a few more steps. The scale seems accurate and inline with other scales that I have used. It was easy to setup, but the icons are really small and hard to see. The directions are also quite small and difficult to see what the icons mean. They could be a little more clear, but overall this is a good value for the money.

Accurate scale but the body fat and other "measurements" seem to be a mathematical calculations based on your weight/height rather than actually determining your body fat. For me, the other things weren't X what I bought the scale for. I got about 6 months of daily weights on the batteries that came with it. Replacement batteries are readily available on Amazon (or in most stores).

Im a little upset. I was very excited to get this scale. It has a beautiful look and seems accurate ..but I wad unable to program my settings bc I could need read the numbers. They were unclear and I could not read them . I didnt know if it was a three or a nine because some of the number was missing. Hopefully its a easy fix/ return.Customer service was great. Im a little nervous to order again. But since they were very prompt and professional, I may take the chance.

I am very pleased with this. We have used it a few days now, and outside of one occastion thus far, the weights have been accurate. The one time, was when I moved it and had it on a different surface. I have set up our user info, and that was very easy. I have not noticed where it will show you a gain or drop in weight on its own though.Time will tell how well it holds up, and the battery life of it. But, for the money and features, I am happy.

I really like all of the information that this scale provides. Many scales that I have used in the past seem skewed, I will step on 5 minutes apart and weigh 3 lbs difference. That doesn't happen with this one.

This scale is adorable, functional, and probably the best purchase I've made for the bathroom in awhile. Considering how important toilet paper is, that's a pretty bold compliment!It's rather impressive how it auto-detects whether or not it's my husband or I. It does not make excessive noise (bonus! Not a fan of unnecessary beeping!). This scale is also incredibly quick in its calculations.For the price, I'm amazed at the quality of this scale!
