Optimistic.
I haven’t been through an Arizona summer with this product yet but, based on other reviews and reputation, I’m looking forward to success. No question about the savings compared to the local pool supply offerings. Nearly two for the price of one. The only hitch so far is the container.. The front of the jug instructs us to read the reverse panel for cautions. That panel is blank on both of mine. I’m sure the info is available on-line and I don’t see a reason to yank a star. Just seems odd. When the fall arrives I’ll update the review if there are any stunning discoveries. Enjoy.

Compare with Leslie's Perfect Weekly.
I received the product on schedule and it was packaged well. I have not used it yet. I have historically used Leslie's Perfect Weekly and I purchased this product for comparison purposes.

If the algae keeps coming back even using pool shock or algaecide, you need this
I went a few years with no issues but then starting getting a lot of algae. I didn't understand why as I would test my chlorine and pH every 2 days and have Pinch as Penny do a more complete test twice per month. All my numbers were in balance (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, stabilizer, calcium hardness, TDS, etc). So I tried an algaecide first but that was a band-aid, then tried the shock method, where you spike your chlorine for several days and scrub the wall daily. That did the trick...so I thought. In a week or two, the algae would come right back (mostly green and yellow). The pool guy at the store insisted that I was not shocking enough, like I was the idiot. He told me I had to do it weekly. The problem is that the chlorine level would be too high for most of the week to swim in and I was going through a ton of chlorine. Plus, the upkeep was becoming a PITA.I finally met up with a pool inspector and told him what was happening. He said, "I bet you have high phosphates". He told me to buy a phosphate remover and if the water immediately starts to get cloudy, that's phosphate. Sure enough, it turned cloudy right away. Running my pump non-stop for about 3 days cleared everything up. The pressure on my pool filter spiked due to the trapped phosphates, so I cleaned the filter and the pressure went back to normal. So zoom forward 2 years later, I know have crystal clear water and use a lot less chlorine and no algaecides. Too keep my phosphates at near zero, I use this product as a preventative and shock the pool only about once per month. If you already have a phosphate issue, I would use a dedicated phosphate remover, then use this as a maintenance.

Crystal clear pool
I've been using this for a few years as a cheaper alternative to a similar store brand. As part of a diligent pool maintenance regime, this product helps keep the pool crystal clear year 'round.
