FANTASTIC and adorable. A quarter stick of butter fits perfectly in the oblong dish. We love it.

I bought this because our butter bell holds an entire stick of butter which takes us longer than 3 days to eat and if I forget to change the water it goes bad. With this little butter dish it holds about 1/4 stick (more if you want) and it's the perfect amount to keep on the counter without risking butter going unused and going bad. Not to mention, it is so aesthetically pleasing.

We like to leave our butter out so it is spreadable. It is only the two of us so a whole stick is too much. This holds half a stick and it's perfect. Looks cute, well made & cleans easily. Have only hand washed.

I love the little butter dish, but it took 3 tries to get one that either the plate was not broken or the lid didn't have a wonky shape or the little knob wasn't crooked. That's why not 5 stars. But as the returns are easy, I just kept ordering until I got one that is how it is supposed to be. It is very, very cute and perfect for those who don't go through a whole stick of butter quick enough to leave that much out at one time. If you can get a good one, you will like it. However, the ridge on the plate may not be desirable to some people, so you may want to consider that.

This is perfect to sit on the counter. Holds about two or 3 tablespoons of butter. The handle is easy to grasp.

Good for half a stick of butter.

It's very small but adorable. Precious little thing fits in your hand and doesn't take up much counter space. It holds about a third to a half a stick of butter which is fine for my family because we don't go through much butter. Very cute.

I live alone and only use butter, so I buy the 1/4 quarter size, I freeze them and when I ready to use them. I took one out to see how it fits. it barley fits, but than again when I use a pad I use some of it up. so my take on this is it is just right. and fits in my refrig. door with room to spare. I should say I bought the square 4x4. I will not be using this on the table, but I can see where it would be very nice and not take up room like the long butter holders. So glad I found this, because in the past I tossed out more butter because I could not cover them nicely.
