Skip The Others And Buy This One
I returned a Meater+, which doesn’t do what they claim, and at best is virtually useless. I thought I’d just go back to using my digital meat thermometer as usual and forget about the convenience of being able to monitor my cook from inside my home.I kept reading reviews and researching wireless thermometers, quality, usefulness, costs and practicality. I came across this Flame Boss, liked the positive reviews and then read some other bbq forums. Though somewhat more expensive than the Meater+, it has features I liked, like 2 temperature probes with capability of adding 2 more, for 4 monitoring a multiple meat cook.I decided to purchase it along with an extra meat probe to monitor the dome temperature of my Big Green Egg.The app is available on the Apple store (and I understand on the Android website also). It’s pretty intuitive to set up.I just finished smoking 2 Boston Butt roasts, using a probe for each roast and 1 for the dome temperature. The app was setup on my iPhone, the Flame Boss charged the day before (important to know that the Flame Boss does NOT come charged so make plenty of time to charge it prior to using it!!) and I set my temperature limits within the iPhone app.During the cook, I went all over the house with my phone and never lost connection with the FB unit outside by the grill, both are connected to WiFi... (Meater+ claims theirs will do that, but it WON’T!). I was amazed at both the accuracy and range of the Flame Boss!If you’re “on the fence” about buying this, don’t be. It’s a great unit and you’ll wonder how you got along without it. I do need to mention that I have no idea whether or not it’s waterproof. Though it was sunny during my cook, I kept the unit inside a plastic bag just “in case.” Better to be safe than sorry.

Flame Boss WiFi Thermometer: Does what it says it does . . . Really Well.
Having used flame boss to control my kamado smokers for the past six years, I was really excited to get this wi-fi thermometer to temp four meats / things at the same time on my electric smoker.Packaging is solid. Look and feel speak to a very high build quality. I received all the contents listed in the description. They do make it very clear Flame Boss provides two meat probes. However, I would like to see it come with four meat probes since there are four jacks for thermometers. I would say order four extra so you have two backups. Meaning, comes with two, so order four extra so you get 6 with your package. The probes are solid . . . but it's still going to break one day . . . and you never EVER have them fail at a convenient time.Connecting to the WiFi was a breeze. Essentially the web page walks you through the process . . . easy. For my test run, I did two pork butts overnight. I took a pit probe and attached it to port 3 and ran it inside the smoker clipped to it's thermometer to see how closely they read. Very valuable as I discovered the electric smoker really runs 15 degrees cooler than it tells me. Now I know to set the pit hotter to get the desired results. I also put a pit probe outside the smoker to monitor the temp . . . mostly just to use the fourth thermometer on the display. The test went perfectly. I learned something about my smoker and and thrilled. One thing I didn't think about when I ordered this WiFi Thermometer: This gives you full access to the Flame Boss App! This means you can track and share your cooks. You can make notes to review later. You can monitor the cook from anywhere you have wifi as I'm doing right now. I'm at home writing this review while monitoring the cook on my electric smoker at the restaurant. Awesome! Finally . . . Flame Boss Customer Service is simply second to none. Responsive and helpful every time.In closing . . . The Flame Boss WiFi Thermometer does what it says it does . . . really well. Now . . . looks like I'll need another one for home to use on the ovens inside the house.

Works great, but missing a few nice features
I am a happy Flame Boss 300 smoker controller user, so was immediately interested in their wifi thermometer.I waited due to the price versus features. But finally got one and I do like it and love that it works side-by-side in the same app I'm already familiar with. You can set high and low alarms for the probes. Accuracy is great. It just is missing some features that Inkbird has, and costs more. I also own an Inkbird I have used for 6 months and overall still like that one better. But this one does the basics very well. The battery lasts considerably longer than advertised...I get over 30 hours always, 36 hours sometimes. This Flameboss device's history, like their other devices, can be viewed when the device is offline. The Inkbird does not have that ability.Missing: it only comes with 2 probes, and they are both the same color. Should come with 4 and be color-coded. (They cost $20-25 each to purchase separately, and different colors are available, fyi) It is not water-resistant. And the app doesn't show battery remaining, so you have to watch the device, though with it's long life this isn't a big deal. Accuracy tests with boiling water and freezing water were dead-on. But it does not have the ability to calibrate. And lastly, a built-in magnet would be nice. None of those are deal-breakers on their own, but just "cons". And things the Inkbird includes for a lower price.I have used this and 2 other brands (Tappecue & Inkbird). I will continue to use this one, and like it and recommend it, but I still prefer the Inkbird overall so far.

Doesn't connect to wifi
See pic. This is the first thing you see when you open the box. They already know it's garbage. App flaked out constantly and device unable to connect to wifi. It just gives prompt to continue offline. Great option my non-wifi thermometer already does that so why would I want a Wi-Fi version that does the same?Update 6-26-23Ended up buying an Inkbird wifi thermometer IBBQ-4T. App loaded and worked as expected. Seamlessly conected to wifi. Total setup took 5 min. I recommend going with Inkbird instead of the flame boss.
