This is the second and last screw-in, light bulb security camera I will buy. I choose it after (a) getting a different one with LOUSY picture quality, and (b) based on the reviews of several YouTubers. The set-up was a bit of a pain. The setup was not helped by the instructions. Rather, I relied on the little understandable information I could get, and general experience with setting up most Bluetooth devices. Initially and for about a week, 10 days, the cameras worked fine.DEVICE ITSELF: The camera has a nice color image, that gets a little less so at night, but not at all bad. Initially it was tracking and then returning to it's default location. But within about a week, 10 days, both cameras stopped tracking. Additionally, the delay time is so long between detection and actual recording / tracking, that the subject is out of sight. We also experienced it dropping portions of the image when it was recording. At one point, one camera turned it's spotlight on, and stayed on non-stop. Even trying the lights control on the app, it still never turned off, day or night. This same camera even turned and faced the wall rather than the yard when it finished "tracking". We tried taking it out and screwing it back in, physically turning the camera, using the app to rotate it to the correct position. It would sit there for a minute or two, but then go right back to facing the wall. The other camera would turn on (but not track) for sound, but would not detect or react to motion. Example, someone driving into the driveway and turning into the garage would not trigger the camera until the SOUND of the garage door opening would trigger it. Even then, the actual recording took so long post detection, that the car was already inside the garage. The camera's default is aimed at the street, and our driveway is every bit of five car lengths long and turns into a two car garage. More than enough length to capture a car coming in.OWNERS MANUAL/INSTRUCTIONS: Keep in mind, the printed instructions are next to impossible to read due to the tiny size document and small print. Also the accompanying app to operate the cameras is a royal pain, with illogical and poorly sequenced instructions. There are no instructions in the usual sense of the word, but a FAQ section that covers the entire universe of all types of devices this app can support. Nothing is grouped or organized around either specific type of devices, or specific types of functions. It also doesn't help that the translation from Chinese (this is a Chinese manufacturer) to English must have used a bad translation app and then didn't bother, or didn't know enough, to correct some very confusing language syntax. Made it very hard to understand some of the so-called instructions.TROUBLE SHOOTING and SUPPORT: There is none. There is one of those "chat boxes" to ask about a problem, but it is very UNintelligent in that it sends back very few responses, none of which address the problem. (Why is my camera no longer tracking?). There are no other means of contacting any type of tech support.I have returned this item to Amazon, and will never buy or recommend a screw-in, light-bulb security camera to anyone, ever.

Great quality for price.
I bought this security camera for a mountain cabin but didn’t get a chance to install and test before I had to winterize the cabin for the winter (2022-2023). I just got it installed, setup and did some basic testing. I’ll need to see how it works remotely monitoring my cabin during the winter that is over two hours away. I’m lucky to have good WiFi with StarLink satellite. I’ll update this review after further testing and usage. After limited testing though I’m very hopeful and will give it 5 stars pending remotely monitoring during the winter. The things I’m pleased with are:- [ ] great image quality- [ ] good night vision- [ ] easy install and setup … written instructions were straight forward- [ ] option of SD card or cloud recording. I am only using an SD card for now but I’m expecting cloud recording will serve us better once we leave for the winter. Some things I’m concerned about are:- [ ] I planned to use this camera in the front porch light socket but it is too big. Our security screen door hits it when fully open. That’s not the camera’s fault but I’ll have to make adjustments such as blocking how far the security door can open. The front porch is the optimal location for a security cam but for testing I’ve set it up using a lamp socket.- [ ] connecting to the camera thru the app is a bit glitchy but hopefully all functions get smoother with more experience with settings and camera’s functions. If connection between app and camera, or camera and WiFi is not steady and reliable then it will be a must that reconnecting from some distance is either automatic or very easy. Stay tuned for update.

Decent for monitoring a static location; not great for interactive features.
The good: Great image quality, wide viewing area, very good night vision. Easy to install and setup. Gives prompt motion-detection alerts with a screenshot of what caused the alert. The bad: Poor audio quality, live-video connection issues (for me), lacking some really basic and desirable features, the app interface is not the most intuitive.Read on for a more thorough review:Connection through the app to the camera's live video stream is spotty and inconsistent. I'm not sure if it's due to wi-fi issues, or what. Sometimes it just crashes entirely. The video feed lags constantly, and manual camera controls simply don't respond half the time, or you'll overshoot because the video connection stalls while you're still moving the camera and you can't see. *I will reiterate* that this could be due to connectivity issues with the wifi router, but that's hard to verify. My phone and other devices still have a strong wifi connection while standing directly beneath where this device is installed, so maybe it has a weak pickup antenna.Audio quality is ok when speaking to someone through the camera's built-in speaker from your phone, but being able to hear them talk back to you through the app on your phone is another story. It's choppy, laggy, and terrible quality. Again, it's possible the connection could be the primary culprit, but nonetheless, this talking feature is rendered useless for me.The camera loudly broadcasts "Connection Failed" or "Device Offline" to the entire world via the built-in speaker whenever you are attempting to view the live video feed and the connection drops. This seems really unwise for a security device, where sometimes just the passive appearance is enough to deter would-be trespassers. Letting them know it’s not working is a bad idea. There doesn't seem to be an option to turn these voice alerts off. There is a complete lack of explanation for all of the camera function settings on the app, and the Search feature doesn't provide results in the Help/FAQ section. You have to hunt for information on some internet help page, or else trial and error the functions yourself. The motion tracking function does not reset to your preferred camera position after tracking the object. This is really unhelpful, as you have to frequently reset to the desired default postion manually whenever motion tracking is turned on. In fact, there is no default position setting, the camera simply stays in the last position where you stopped giving manual inputs, or wherever it stopped tracking motion. The light function can only be turned on manually, not tied in automatically to a motion-detection scenario or timer. There is apparently an audible alarm feature, but I wasn't able to set it off during my testing, so I'm not really sure how it works.I'm pleased with the alerts feature and feel more secure knowing that it's at least taking a picture of any activity in my area, but I'm a bit upset that I can't interact more with the real-time stream. Maybe a wifi signal repeater closer to the device will solve these issues? I will likely attempt that in the future. For the cheap price, though, this is a decent security monitoring device. Worth a buy if you want a very simple security solution.*Update August 2023: I needed another camera, so I bought the updated black/white version. It is made for outdoor use, but still seems to suffer from a poor connection through walls and floors. I wish it had a stronger antenna so that I didn't need to consider a mesh system or repeaters for my network (another expense). I do like how it comes with a wiring attachment, so you can install it anywhere if you know how to wire a light fixture. Still a pretty useful product, just a few minor considerations keeping it from being perfect. Would generally recommend for an easy but not 100% reliable monitoring system.
