THE best DIY deal when 50-60% off - not for those easily frightened by giant piles of parts
5 stars because good luck finding any better deal. I got this for $72 USD, which is usually the price of just ONE mount. With this, you get TWO desk mounts that you DIY custom build to support almost any device you want. You can mount this in a variety of different configurations, and I am considering getting a 2nd copy of this kit just for mounting extra parts to the existing frames.Yes, I said custom build. Because let's just get it right out of the way. The negative reviews, in all their histrionics, are also correct:- Yes, it's so cheap because a lot of assembly is required- The manual is inaccurate and is more general ballpark inspirational, it doesn't hold your hand- This is a DIY parts kit - you have to use your brain and figure out a lot on your ownIf you are easily scared by a giant pile of parts, this is not for you. In which case I would encourage you to still try anyway. It really is more intimidating looking than it actually is -- which is much the same for the games that use mounts like this. If you don't have what it takes to assemble this, how will you survive the complexities of flight? Maybe a smartphone or console game would be more suited to you?If you appreciate the greater possibility held by a pile of parts, keep reading. There are some things to keep in mind when assembling that aren't obvious or mentioned in the manual:☀ The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro isn't officially supported but can be secured to the mounting rails with 4 Velcro cable/zip-tie strip/wraps. This also goes for just about anything that doesn't have screw holes.☀ Wipe down all the main metal pieces with paper towels before assembling or your hands will stink from some kind of industrial grease they made this with!☀ The manual says to loosely attach the little trapezoidal silver nuts/bolts onto things _before_ sliding them into the rails. TO MAKE **EVERYTHING** EASIER, disregard the manual and instead first put them directly into the rails (make sure they're facing the correct way - match their shape to the rail) to create sliding screw holes. To prevent them from sliding out, use the little HIKIG branded square plastic pieces on the ends of the rails. The whole process should now be tremendously easier.☀ If your desk's front facing edge is not flat/straight but rounded (like mine), you will have a challenge - this mount may pivot/spin around. In this case, either insert/build some kind of shim to provide the mount with a flat straight facing surface, or -- if you're willing to deface your desk -- drive a dowel, wood screw, or pin through the screw hole on the top of the mount to provide it with a 3rd contact point that will prevent it from swiveling around.☀ After assembling the clamp, the best path to calibrate the clamp to your desk thickness is as follows:(1) flip the lever *into the locked-on position* before assembling it to the main vertical rail(2) use the rotation of the top of the clamp to snug it against the desk(3) flip the lever down to pull the clamp away from the desk(4) unscrew the clamp's circular pad A LITTLE TINY BIT to provide extra pressure(5) flip the lever back up to secure the entire assembly - this SHOULD NOT require great force⚠ ! WARNING: DO NOT OVERPRESSURE THE DESK WITH THE CLAMP! ⚠ You only need "just enough" snugness that pulling the mount firmly will wiggle your desk rather than the mount! This kit has no safety functions to prevent you from building it in such a way that it will destroy itself, or your desk. To the reviewer who complained about the metal noticeably bending when mounted, you used WAY too much pressure!

Well done kit
Well packaged kit with plenty of spares to secure different sticks and throttles. Very adjustable due to the aluminum profile. There are end caps to cover the sharp ends but they could be a little more secure. The instructions were fairly straight forward if you are methodical about assembly. Everything is assembled with the included Allen key.

Good Sturdy Hardware Beware Quality Control
This is a great product, if you're paying the discounted price around $80. While I do see how the original price is justified through the good materials used in this mount, they're a bit overly bulky in that they overcompensate in order to accommodate all the different types of HOTAS setups. I definitely appreciate the fact that I can upgrade my HOTAS to something better/new and not have to worry about getting new mounts, but that leads to a product that comes with a ton of extra hardware and almost too much adjustability. The vertical bar is long enough that you will definitely notice the lost knee/leg room, and this is amplified by the fact that it's built long enough to be mounted on a standing desk and be used in a sitting position. That could be a good thing though, if you're looking for a mounting solution that can accommodate a weird/custom desk.To further speak to the hardware itself; everything is made out of metal, aside from good rubber and silicone for the faces that mate with the desk. it feels like a very solid product, and once all the nuts are tightened down it feels absolutely rock-solid. These mounts can even be affixed to your desk at an angle and won't introduce any play or instability, if it's tightened down properly. However, I do think that they don't pay the closest attention to quality control, as I had two parts that were defective upon arrival. One of the four L-Brackets had a hole that wasn't punched through and had a slug affixed to the side, which had been coated with the rest of the piece making it difficult to repair on my own. I did end up assembling the mount with the bad bracket, and it still feels very solid. The second part was one of the flat bars, which have sunken screws via a bevel in a perpendicular hole. The bevel on one of the holes, on one of the four flat hotas mounting bars was not beveled and thus couldn't be affixed with two screws, just one. Regardless of the missing bevel, it didn't effect the rigidity of the mount, even when both bad parts were installed in the same mount. While the lacking quality control was frustrating, I was pleasantly surprised to find I wouldn't need to have it replaced since it works perfectly fine as is with the bad parts.Overall, this is a great way to have a modular mounting setup that allows for future upgrades, and is built sturdy enough to take some punishment. I can already tell it's a night and day difference having your hotas fixed to a sturdy surface, rather than leaving them sitting on your desk, unattached. However, if you order this product, make sure to inspect all of your parts, prior to assembling anything, as everything is packed very efficiently in the box and returns may be difficult to repack. One more note to make: I bought this product to use on an L-shaped desk, and this may have been a blunder on my part. The mounts take up too much room for my case and make it impossible to fully pull my chair in for equal reach to my keyboard and hotas. This can lead to having to lean forward to use the keyboard whenever I need to switch back and forth on the fly. This definitely won't be an issue if you have a wider desk, and will most likely still be fine for other L-Shaped desks if it has a larger footprint. Make sure to take some measurements and ensure it'll fit your setup, and account for any angle you may want to put them at when using the mounts!

Well made but huge.
Gonna be honest I gave this 5 stars because it does exactly what it’s supposed to and is good build quality, no issues, however I do find them to be huge, and obnoxious and possibly a little dangerous even as I’ve caught my skin on the brackets once already and almost ripped myself open, probably going to end up considering these a loss and tossing them as it’s well past the probability of returning them, make sure this is really what you want, seriously they’re so big I cannot even fit my chair between them without spacing them so far apart it’s un-usable

Does it's job
Easy to assemble and the sliders let you set it up really easily. The clamps don't have the range I would like but the build quality and functionality are exactly what I needed for star citizen. Came with 2 full plates that have cutouts for a range of joysticks so you can screw them in and not have to worry about stability.Good priceQuality materialProvided solutions for a range of devices
