Excellent for securing a boat to a dock

I've used stretchy marine dock lines like these for years. I've even tried making them myself, but when I can buy them for a good price, I'll leave the manufacturing to others. That's the case here. These dock lines are as good or better than the ones I've made myself. Boats tied to a dock with a conventional line can suffer damage during wind and high seas. A boat can rock so violently that the cleat can be ripped from the dock, or from the boat. That's why I prefer this sort of dock line that absorbs the shock of a big wave by stretching instead of snapping. I have these protecting my boat as I write and they are performing just as expected. These are quite stretchy, I'd say up to about 50% of their normal length. Typically, I replace dock lines onece every summer. It is normal for the UV in sunlight and heat to degrade polypropylene over time.

Work very well on calm waters

Now I'm not a seasoned boat person by any means, but my buddy who owns the pontoon boat is. We tried using these on our first trip out, which happen to be pretty windy that day and they were kind of tricky to use. So we sat them aside and went with the standard rope wrap around. On another trip we were able to use them easily as the waters were calm and you could take your time to secure them properly. So do they work, yes, but not in every situation. When we were able to use them, they were very sturdy with just the right amount of give and take. The weather around here can take it's toll on boating equipment, so we do keep them stored away when not using. But for now, they've served very well, with the one exception, so I can recommend them for normal use. Thank you.

Good and strong, brightly colored

When you need short dock lines with a little bit of give, it's hard to go wrong with these. They have a foot or two of stretch, ideal for dealing with wind and drift, while still keeping your craft close to the dock. Material feels nicely made though it's thinner at the loops. Feels like it can take moderate shock pretty well.I wouldn't trust a larger craft (such as pontoon boats) to ONLY these, but as part of a larger docking setup or as a backup, they work great. And for smaller craft, these are ideal. Compact, small, lightweight but still sturdy, they get the job done.

Really just a normal bungy cord

So it seems that this is a fairly normal bungy cord inside of a standard rope. I had hoped that this would do a good job when mooring my 25' boat. But the bungy is really not strong enough to provide much good. If there is any wind or wave action, the bungy is stretched to the max very quickly and it is just like a normal rope. It is convenient to have a short rope on hand when docking parallel and I will use it for that, but the shock absorption on a heavy boat is minimal. This would probably work great if you had a light weight boat or a jet ski.

Well-made and exactly what they are supposed to be. 4' and stretch to just short of 6'

We have a small pontoon boat on a small residential artificial lake. Electric drive only. Wind can be an issue, wave action is very limited, and we have a small floating dock we berth the pontoon to. I was looking for a quicker way to shove off/secure the boat than messing with lines and knots.I have these at both ends, in tension. At full extension of, say the fore line, the rear is still in some tension. This way I can just fix the loops over the dock cleats and leave it at that as there is no slack situation where more might be needed. Perfect.Very happy with them. Clean, elegant, secure, inexpensive. A+

Great Quality!

I am super impressed with these bungee dock lines. I have a little 17-foot Glastron and these dock lines are perfect for tying up when docking overnight or for a quick meal on the water. I am incredibly impressed with the stretch in the bungee lines as well. It's enough to ensure the boat is being secured but it also has just the right amount of give for when the wake from another boat comes rolling in.Highly impressed and I would recommend this to any boat owner out there!

Basic Bungee Dock Lines

These are decent bungee dock lines which work well for my purpose, which is to provide a second level of security should my pontoon boat somehow end up off the boat lift and in the water. This probably shows some level of paranoia on my part, but I've rescued a couple of boats that ended up out of their boat houses and floating freely after major storms. I will also use the dock lines when docking at other lakeside houses or restaurants. The 4' length is perfect for this purpose. I especially like that the lines are looped at both ends, making it very easy to secure to dock cleats. The dock lines seem more "plasticky" than higher quality boat lines, but they should do the job, and I would expect them to be fairly durable. I'm sure that they will last for several years before failing due to the inexorable ravages of sun and water.
