Good little peice of kit.
Works fine. HD quality just as good as any pocket HD camera these days (and I mean that in a good way).Although the frame rate on a PI is too slow to catch a cold, so you end up turning the res down and a slow frame rate. Slightly better results on a PI 2, as you can up the resolution a bit, but if you want top HD, you feel you have to compromise on the frame rate for streaming video and resort to having it just take periodic pictures. To be honest, I've played around with different Linux camera programs and compiled them for the PI (which is an all-night affair), added extention USB cords, mounted it in a home made external security box. Been there, done that; worn the T-shirt.But my conclusion was, it was easier to buy a cheap IP HD cam. Maybe not as much fun though! :-)

but not a great camera from an optical point of view
fast delivery, but not a great camera from an optical point of view. But that is to be expected, easy to install, but the software is a bit of a limitation. Works fine once configured.

Raspberry Pi Camera Module- GREAT
Raspberry Pi Camera Module- with IR filterSold by: PiSupply£19.99Instead of buying a webcam (USB-plug in) for my project, I decided to buy this Pi camera module. It came attached on a ribbon, which connects to the Raspberry Pi. Rather than using up a USB port for an external camera (i.e. webcam), I was thinking- I might as well use the port designated for a camera. So I can use the USB ports for something else such as a Wi-Fi dongle (if using Raspberry Pi 1/2), USB memery sticks to transfer files, etc.It came with an original box and the module was in a anti-static plastic wrap. It was easy to set up- there is an online tutorial how to set the Pi camera up. And the image quality is great. I've had it for couple of months now and I've not encountered any issues at all.Great product and great seller. Delivered well on time- in two days. I would recommend it...However, at the time of writing this review, I see that "V2" - version 2 is out. I'd probably go for the latest version but if you want to buy this one, I would certainly recommend it.I've include some pics of the product.Any questions regarding about this item, please leave a comment and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.I would really appreciate it if you marked this review as helpful or not so that I can improve my future reviews.

The still images produced on this camera are really good. A still shot takes about 6 seconds to process. Camera operation from the command line is easy, and can be included in Python scripts and C/++ code. One problem - the ribbon cable, which is never to be folded or creased, is folded and creased for packaging.

Easy to use, OK image quality but not brilliant
Not too much to say - it works and it's certainly a useful add on to the Pi. A lot of people say the image quality is very good; perhaps I'm expecting too much but I don't entirely agree. It's perfectly acceptable for capturing images say, for a surveillance or wildlife camera, but I do get a lot of colour fringing and alternating dark and light bands across the images. I should probably improvise a lens hood, which ought to help. And for the price I'm being rather picky. That aside, installation is very straightforward and it's very easy to control it from the Pi. Definitely worth adding to the parts box if you're a Pi experimenter.

great addition for the pi/pi2
fantastic little camera, great quality images, I've added a clip on wide angle lens to make it more useful for security image use, but it has a fairly wide field already, bit of a fiddle to connect and you need to make up some support for it, I've made a lego case and ball jointed arm for it.

An alright camera
Jury still out on this one - but that's more down to the PSU that is supplying the Raspberry. The PSU is a Maplin PSU rated at 2A but it results in lots of horizontal lines on the image. However when powered from my PC monitor USB port it runs well. It's a camera and it works with the Pi - just make sure you have a good PSU before blaming the camera like I did at first.
