Yale EF-KP Easy Fit Alarm Remote Keypad, White, Accessory for SR & EF Alarms

Took very little programming to link the key pad to the alarm hub.

I bought this for the EF Telecommunicating Kit and it works well. As noted by other reviewers the instructions are terrible, so when you first set it up you will probably find that you can set the alarm ok, but you won't be able to unset it with the keypad. This is because the keypad pin has a factory default pin of 0000. The control centre doesn't pass it's pin to the keypad so treat the pin here as a completely separate device. So you will need to change the pin on the keypad itself... I found these instructions on a forum which worked for me:1 Press the ‘A’ key followed by factory defaultkeypad code ‘0000’.2 The LED will now flash slowly indicating it is in test(programming) mode.3 Press the ‘A’ key followed by the ‘7’ key to set thekeypad into PIN code mode.4 Press the ‘B’ key and enter new four digit keypadcode followed by the Arm key.5 Quit test mode by pressing the disarm key twice.The keypad code and mode setting has beencompleted.• The keypad code is not used by the system, onlythe keypad itself. You should not have to use thiscode again so make a note of it and keep it in asafe, secure place.

What instructions don't say, is you need to look at alarm instuctions first on how to add a device. Usually it's the Blue button and scroll down to Devices, then Add Device.Keys 8 & 9 together on Keypad to learn the device. The alarm needs to name it & alarm says *********** (10). REMOTE KEYPAD is too long (12) so KEYPAD (6) is OK, so second one is KEYPAD2 (7). Alarm needs to Learn & name any new device, whatever it is.Then Save Device. Come out of it.Instructions on Keypad is OK, once the alarm has the Device.

WORST SETUP INSTRUCTIONS KNOWN TO MAN !!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH YALE.I have a degree in Computer Science - honestly, and when you have three different sets of instructions, all saying something different, and none of them work, you have to go to google to sort it. Not good enough !The real instructions are;1. Go to your main control panel, and add a device2. Press 8 + 9 together on the remote key pad (this tells it to talk to the main control panel)3. Press OK on the main control panel to add the device (give it a name if you want)4. Press Panic button A on the remote key pad5. Press 0000 on the remote key pad (this is the default passcode that comes with the remote keypad)6. Press 7 on the remote key pad7. Press disarm twiceThe instructions that come with the remote keypad say press 8+9 to code it. The back of the remote key pad itself say press 8 to code it, and the main instructions that come with the main alarm, say press 7 to code it .... only one of these was only partially correct,, and miss out steps 1 to 3 above !!Nightmare to setup, but now all working.ThanksChris

Works perfectly as described but syncing with my current system wasnt all too clear. make sure you have the instructions to hand when setting it up. It's small and unobtrusive, much better than having the big keypard by the door. It also removes the possibility of an intruder pulling the power out of your main alarm box [...]

When working this is a great addition to EF alarm system. The last one failed after I tried to change the button cell battery and the battery holder broke off (as other reviewers have mentioned) . I don't know if this is really poor design or if it is a security feature to disintegrate if it is tampered with. Either way it can't be repaired and the keypad needs to be replaced so be careful. As also stated in previous reviews, for some unknown reason the keypad is not supplied with instructions on how to program the disarm code. It will set your alarm but will not disable it. To get the instructions you need to go to the product support pages of the Yale site.

My Yale EF kit can hide away out of sight - this does all the work.Very simple adhesive gets this on the wall. Super easy to pair it with the main unit.Lock button sets the alarm on. Unlock button + 4 digit code unlocks the alarm. There's also a partial lock (for when you've gone to bed).
