Wow! I did not expect that!!
The media could not be loaded. There’s mixed reviews with this product, but all I can saw is WOW. I had a dark wood standard lamp I was refurbishing to go in my living room. It had layers and layers of horrible lacquer on it, some of which had peels, some which had stained. So, I used a paint stripper on that and reveals this red coloured wood. I wanted it lighter so scouring the internet came across this A and B wood bleaching kit. I didn’t expect anywhere near the results I got. It’s gone so light, I’m considering getting a light wood colour to stain it back down again to the colour I want! The results were incredible and there’s no damage to the wood that I can see. I hardly used any of the two products so I’ve got a lot left for other projects in the future. There’s no smell, but I did work on it outside and then stored the lamp in the shed rather than the house to dry over night.I used white vinegar to neutralise the bleach, which is advised if you want to put a wax finish in, which I do.Well worth the time and effort for the results I got. Very happy.Oh… and wear rubber gloves! Bleach is really not on the list of recommended skin care products!

It works with preparation.
Blow away with the results, Rustins wood bleach worked great for me ( see pictures ) The secret is preparation and read the instructions. Instructions are a bit confusing but I must have got it right because it worked out great for me. Yes can recommend buying Rustins wood bleach.

Not Effective on Dyed Wood
I tried using this to brighten or remove a wood dye that was too dark. While it did lighten the wood itself, the dye remained completely unaffected. No noticeable difference at all.

Really works
I do a lot of up-cycling of old furniture and was looking to get the bleached look on a highly detailed carved table. The effect was immediate and exactly what I wanted. I have dropped one star because it is quite expensive and you must ensure that all the wood to be treated has been stripped to the same degree or it becomes quite patchy.

Let there be light.
This is a fantastic product that really works. So this was the issue - We had a new oak balustrade fitted to an existing staircase but the existing handrail did not match. The new wood was light oak & the handrail was dark mahogany. So either buy a new handrail in oak - cost c.£150 or try to bleach the existing one. It worked! They now match! The product is very easy to use & only required one application. I have plenty left over for more projects - just need to find more dark wood to turn light.

Does a very good job.
I had some oak beams fitted and unfortunately we're left exposed to the elements for two weeks. They were covered with the dark staining from where the water reacted with the tannins in the timber.I tried vinegar, which got the light staining out. But the really dark stains remained.I then used the Rustins wood bleach, and just one application got the rest out.But it has really bleached the wood of all its colour, so it now looks like birch. Not a problem for me, but do not use if you want to keep the original wood colour.
