Quality Product.

Excellent bit of kit helps to control and connect various satellite receivers from one dish.

Excellent!

2 way splitter, used this little piece of kit to split coaxial cable at the aerial, one cable to bt tv box the other to a powered splitter for tvs in bedrooms and kitchen. Was a bit concerned about signal loss so checked signal prior to installing with the bt box which was fed direct from the aerial. 93% strength 100% quality after the installation the exact same results. Good piece of kit and cheap as chips, would definitely recommend!!!

Probably better for satellite signal than TV.

I have used these type of splitters in order to split my Digital TV signal to my TV, Talk Talk box and Now TV box using a passive splitter. It does split the signal but the signal does get weaker. Some devices find it hard to pick up some channels after using the splitter and you could experience channel distortion/loss. My advice is that if you really need to split your TV signal into 4 then get a powered splitter for about £18. However, this will probably work just fine on a satellite feed, I expect, but have not tried.Sky Satellites 4 Way Satellite Splitter Split Aerial Freeview Cable TV Virgin Sky

Works perfectly well

Purchase this to replace an older Labgear 4 way splitter that I think is malfunctioning. Specifically, one of the ‘out’ ports is not working. It happens, particularly those that are situated outside. This SSL 4 way splitter is actually lighter than my current Labgear one, weighing 44.5g versus 59g for Labgear. It also feels flimsier, like it’s made of plastic as opposed to the heavier set construction of my current splitter. This is probably why is currently approximately ½ the price of the Labgear one. Finally, the bottom 2 ports are more widely spaced.Replacing is actually straight forward. Note that I am only planning to use 3 of the 4 out ports. In use, this has solved my issue and I now have TV antenna for each of my house TVs. A clear picture out of each and every TV. My only unknown is durability. As always, I will update my review if I find any issues or encounter any problems.

Great little product

I was happy with the product but discovered I actually wasn't able to use it to split the cable at the box as I had expected. It did have the correct fitting and I didn't have the bit to make it fit. I do suggest that they give a fitting for the single connection too otherwise it doesn't fit the virgin box at the wall. Or you will need the extra part. I ended up not using it at all.

Splits satellite signal nicely and allows DiSEqC

Bought this to split the satellite signal between an FTA receiver and a Sky box, where only one box is needed at any one time. The FTA receiver was the first box purchased and so a twin main feed wasn't required at that time. I wasn't entirely convinced that the splitter would do what I needed but decided to test it because the cost was minimal. Easy to fit and if there is any signal loss, it is not noticable. Picture quality seems to be as good as when the main feed went directly to either box. Additionally and most significantly, the DC pass-through allows me to control the motorised dish via DiSEqC. I can move the dish between satellites and always return to Astra 2. With the dish in that position, I can set the FTA receiver to standby and switch on the Sky box if required. To use the FTA receiver, I switch the Sky box to standby and switch on the FTA receiver. Note that having both boxes switched on does cause signal problems.

NONE of these splitters work fully due to principle of operation of dish receivers

As several others have stated in this section you are likely to loose many channels from each system if you use one of these. The only way to get a good signal to 2 receivers is to have 2 cables to a dual/quad LNB on the dish.Satellite dishs are not passive like a TV aerial, they are powered, and controlled, by the set top box via the cable. If you connect 2 boxes to the same dish via one cable they get confused. Typically a Sky type box can receive H or V signals, which is decided by the box by sending a different voltage up the cable (13V or 19V). If you connect two together you send two conflicting controls. Only applicable if you want the same type of signal on both receivers.Applies to ALL satellite cable splitters, get a dual/quad LNB - but that requires access to the dish (a ladder), running another cable, and potential re-orientation for new LNB.OK it's cheap, I tried one and wondered why I lost many of my channels until researched. Now working perfectly with a quad LNB.
