UNI-T UT139C Digital Multimeter AD/DC Voltage Current Tester with Resistance Capacitance NCV Test and Temperature Measurement

Well constructed meter with good protective soft sleeve. I have used it to measure the output of a small transformer 240 v ac to 5v dc. It seems accurate. Very clear display. Good sturdy hinged bracket. Good probes and fittings. All in all well worth the money.

I’ve purchased three UNI-T UT139C Digital Multimeters over the past few years, and they have never let me down. The latest one was a gift for my dad’s birthday, and he’s just as impressed with it as I am. It offers accurate testing for DC/AC voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, and even has a temperature function. The NCV test feature is also very useful for checking for live wires without contact. It’s durable, easy to use, and has all the essential functions you need for both basic and advanced electrical tasks. I highly recommend this multimeter to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality tool at a great price!

This item is a far cry from same brand multimeters I used about 10 years ago. It doesn't have neither CE nor UKCA certification. The body is much flimsier, and the leads are not as robust. I can't say anything about it accuracy - I now have nothing to compare it with.I also used Fluke 179 for a long time before this. Yes, it is 10 times more expensive, but makes a much better impression

This is a feature rich, supposedly quite safe (going by various web bloggers and bulletin boards) and easy to use meter which does what much more costly meters (think Fluke 117) do, and some (e.g. micro amps, high impedance mode for the micro volt range) for a fraction of the price.It is not perfect (the backlight stays on for only a short period of time, and can't be adjusted; the temperature only shows in increments in full degrees, the RMS function only works for relatively low frequencies -as is the case for most low to mid range meters, and the paper manual I received was only in Chinese, forcing me to download an English version), but it covers the basics and more (NCV to find hidden live wires, decent probes, etc.) for everyone but the most advanced users. It also feels quite sturdy and seems very well built for the money.I only rate it 4 stars because of quality control issues which required me to order 3 meters until I found a suitable one: The first one had a very poor display which was almost impossible to read straight on -but was ok at an angle. The second one had a very iffy NCV tester (this is not an issue which is unique to UNI-T, based on my recent experience... but it couldn't reliably detect a live wire and would sometimes beep for no reason). The third one is very good though, on par with a well rated meter costing three times as much... Make sure you test your copy and can return your meter if it doesn't perform to spec!

Good multimeter

I've had two of these, one via EBay and one via Amazon. Both of them had unacceptably poor display contrast. The display is virtually unreadable, even when looking at it from directly in front with no shift sideways or vertically. It fades out altogether from above or to either side, although it weirdly becomes clearer when you look at it from below. The backlight makes no difference, and changing the batteries doesn't help either. Both units went straight back for a refund.I strongly advise you to avoid this meter. After this experience - two separate units, both with exactly the same defect - I plan to avoid UNI-T products altogether.

Damn good and sturdy- but the thermocouple cable is very fragile..and I got some inconsistent readings.
