Sturdy bench, simple build
The LARBANKE bench has finally brought order to the chaotic corner of my garage in North London. Its rubber-wood worktop measures 120 by 50 centimetres and feels so solid it could double as a short bowling lane. The maker claims it will carry 900 kilograms, which sounds mad until you clamp on a cast-iron vice and notice the bench barely flinches.I like how the legs adjust through five heights, roughly 85 to 105 centimetres. I plane spruce at the taller setting, then drop the surface so the children can paint their model Spitfires without teetering on stools. A built-in power strip offers two proper UK sockets and two USB ports, so there is no hunt for extension leads when the drill or tablet dies.Putting it together took me about the time it takes to drink a mug of tea. The bolts tighten with the supplied Allen key, though you will need a 13-millimetre spanner to finish the job. That tool is not in the box, so have one ready. The printed measuring scale along the front edge is a clever touch, yet I suspect the numbers will wear after a few years of grit and glue.At 50 centimetres deep the bench will not fully support a full sheet of plywood, so I still lean on a pair of trestles for that. Otherwise the hardwood is faultless, the casters glide smoothly then lock firmly, and the electrics seem sensibly wired. For the money it is a tough, tidy bit of kit that should outlast the rust on my old chisels.

Substantial Product.
My review is not about using this product as a normal work bench as it's size and flexibility to adjust the height made it an ideal table in an outside kitchen. I've looked for ages for a kitchen bench but could not find the size I wanted in stainless so I opted for this product. It arrived a day early which was excellent service. On opening the box (Tip. I used one of the bench top pieces of packing foam to build the unit on.) In the package you have the option of adjustable feed or castors with breaks on every wheel. The build was simple and they provided an Allen key and screwdriver. All the bolts were substantial and everything went together and lined up easily. (Tip. do not tighten leg and rail bolts till you have fitted the wood top.) I opted for the castors, (Tip put the brakes on and then screw on tight.)The table when built is substantial and perfect for my needs. Overall great kit, well finished, went together very easily. Very pleased with the purchase. Ps You do need a spanner or adjustable to tighten the nuts.

The best working bench.
This is an excellent purchase, well made, robust, easy to assemble. Adjustable working height, electrical sockets all in good positions. I bought this for my daughter for her glass making and she is absolutely delighted with it. She's cuts the glass to patterns then the lead trims to size the lead and solders all together all on the bench to make lovely stain glass windows.

Quality workbench
Lovely quality workbench, good strong frame with beautiful wooden 3cm thickness worktop. Had a lot to live up to after all the great reviews but live up IT DID! Quite easy to build, needed to remove the plug sockets to get to the last screw hole (couldn't ignore it, bit of a perfectionist) easy to do, two screws and nuts. The rest was pretty straightforward, you need a 12mm spanner for the 8 bolts that hold the frame together, hex key provided for tightening. Top tip, if using wheels, lock them before screwing into legs and you can hand tighten them good and firm without a spanner. The wheels run really smoothly over carpet and laminate floors for ease of moving around the house. Great workbench for hobbyists, model makers, arts and crafts etc, also handy as a make shift dining table. I've pared mine with a office type chair on wheels so they can move from room to room together. Love this Larbanke workbench and highly recommend.

Good value, nice design, simple to assemble
Likes: Clear instructionsEasy to assembleQuality materialsClean looking designSockets attachedCastors or fixed feet options supplied.Gang sockets attached to table - very convenient!Concerns:Stated capacity > 900kg but I worry slightly about the strength of the legs to support moving the table with very heavy loads. The legs are not braced so the strain on the legs especially at full height bothers me. I will add some bracing just for my own peace of mind I think. The castors - on anything other than a very smooth floor - tend to drag before they rotate into the direction of travel and again this put horizontal stresses on the legs. I might change the castors for larger diameter wheels that will handle movement better. In my case I need to drag the table out of a garage, loaded with machines, but the strength of the leg attachments to the table-top is probably not a concern if the table is static most of the time and the loading is simply vertical. The table was well packaged and not too heavy to manhandle into position for assembly. Instructions were clear – two booklets, one English, one German. All materials provided including an Allen key and cross-head screwdriver. I liked that they included had a few spare screws - just in case.Assembly only took about 20 minutes and was not daunting because there was very little scope for making mistakes.Four stars because I am not convinced by the legs – they bend a bit when dragging with a heavy load. I’m sure it is safe enough but I would prefer a bit more rigidity.
