Tropica Specialised Fertiliser contains all essential nutrients needed including nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). Specialised Fertiliser is suitable for aquariums with many plants in relation to the number of fish, where plants can lack nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) which otherwise would be supplied by fish excrement and food remnants. Specialised Fertiliser is composed so that N and P in particular are supplied to the plants in the amounts and chemical forms the plants require for optimal absorption and growth. The waterplant fertilizer has been developed for plants which easily absorb nutrients from the water via the leaves, which typically are the low, compact foreground plants. The fertilizer also contributes to the supply of the nutrition large stem and rosette plants require. Specialised Fertiliser is added each week when the water is changed. We recommend 5 mL per 50 L water. However, we recommended that this is set in accordance with plant requirements. Specialised Fertiliser

Other Brands Don’t Compare, My Plants Now Pearl
Ok let me start off by going over some tank stats before I go into my Tropica Fertilizer review. I have a 2.6 gallon EBI Shrimp Tank with an added Fluval plant light. The tank is heavily planted with 3 ember tetras ( they are extremely happy and have plenty of space even in a 2.6 gallon) and cherry and Amano shrimp. My plants were doing just ok. They were not vibrant and they were not doing much pearling. In fact only two in the entire tank were pearling at all. A couple of the plants were also starting to yellow a little. I was using API and also tried the Fluval brand plant fertilizers but they were not doing the job at all. I have only used the Tropica for two days now and all my plants have begun pearling like crazy, all of the leaves have turned bright green! I would recommend this for sure and I am not going back to the other brand fertilizers ever again!

Great product but overpriced on Amazon.
Great product but overpriced. You can get it for $10 less from Green Leaf Aquarium. Not impressed with Amazon’s pricing.

Possibly counterfeit product
I have a very high suspicion that this is a counterfeit product. I used Tropica Specialized product in the past and the color was light green. This one looks like a brownish green color as you can see on the photo. Seems like it was a home made fertilizer. I am not going to risk my expensive plants and returning this product

Amazing Lush Growth!
Tropica Specialised Fertiliser has made my planted aquarium look like a show competition aquascape after just 1 month. I use CO2 and had been using seachem with mediocre results. At the recommendation of a planted tank expert, I switched to Tropica Specialised and was AMAZED by the results. My plants are now lush and green ...full of new beautiful growth. IMPORTANT: recommended dosage is based on liters not gallons. (10 L=1 pump therefore 10 gallons = 4 pumps per week)

Disappointed
Lots of hair algae after using this. Really disappointed. My husband had wanted to try this after seeing several pros use it.We ended up losing plants and now have to battle the algae. We have 6 tanks and 2 of them are larger. Both of those tanks we had massive algae issues and lost the plants. We had spent a lot money on those plants. These were well established plants too.I started with a low dose and worked up to the recommended full dose because I knew it was possible to get algae.Going back to using ADA and dosing nutrients separately.

Can't go wrong with Tropica
In the old days I was always reaching for Tropica's older product called Tropica Master Grow. That was always a good fertilizer. Now I'm coming back to the hobby and decided to try the specialized nutrition and see what it can do. It is pricey but if it works for me, I'll stick to it as my tank is only 30 gallons. Shipping was fast and I even got extra! Good deal!
