Works great with a old SoleusAir AC
After reading the top review that tells you how to connect this to your AC it took like 30 seconds to get it connected. Only think I dont like about this is that is is Celsius. I haven't taken the time to try and get it changed if it is possible.

One function only - on and off
The instructions given above on this page were helpful but not exactly fruitful. The instructions in the box are in broken, incorrect English, that made little-to-no-sense.A variation on the first mentioned instructions got the Toshiba AC paired but the only function that would work was "on" and "off"; and the display was reverse to the operation; when the AC turns on, the LED on the remote is blank (like it is off); when the AC turns off, the remote's LED display fires up.The only way I could pair the remote to the AC was to hold the "set" button down until it blinked "___", then I had to hold the set button down until it finally paired (it took a while). If I did not hold down the set button constantly, the display would blink a short while then crap out and display the time, instead.Unfortunately because the auto-pairing mode above shows NO code numbers when it pairs, I could not try code numbers around that number to see if I could get a better and more complete use of other buttons; without a code number showing, when you hold the "set" button for a moment to use the "Temperature arrow keys" to index up or down a code number, the blasted thing just starts you at code "000". What good is that? You don't know the pairing code that worked and now you are set back to zero. The "brand" pairing method was also a failure. I even tried to index through all 999 codes to see if it would sort of 'auto-pair' when I hit the right number - nope (then again I did not stop at each number and hit "OK" - I figured the original auto search wasn't necessarily doing that (but who knows)).The brand code numbers on the included instructions show different numbers that the code page shown on this Amazon page - I tried both, to no avail - no suggested codes functioned at all.SO, since I only keep my AC at one value (a $$ compromise) to keep the house relatively cool, all I need is "on and off". So, I've decided (for the moment anyhow) to keep this simi-useless remote, because the alternative would be to spend double or triple to get a full functioning competitor's remote.I've noticed that this is a brand where the seller does not give helpful comments back to the purchasers when they have a problem. Pity - there is probably a solution somewhere (maybe I just have a bogus remote, or my particular Toshiba needs a 'code' they don't have programmed).

Good Unit -- Bad instructions -- See my comment to have it running it 2 minutes
This is an awesome remote control that I believe works with every AC unit, whether it's fixed or portable. However, the instructions that come with the unit are not user-friendly. Initially, I was about to return the unit. But don't worry, I'll guide you through the setup process step by step:How to Use:Step 1: Turn on the power of the air conditioner manually. Point the remote control towards the air conditioner and press and hold the "SET" button for 3 seconds. Keep holding it until the code starts flashing in the lower right corner of the LCD screen on the remote control.Step 2: Press the "SET" button once again to initiate the automatic code search procedure. You'll notice the code changing automatically on the LCD screen. (If needed, you can manually adjust the code by pressing the temperature "UP" or "DOWN" buttons. However, in most cases, manual adjustment won't be necessary.)Step 3: Wait for a "beep" sound from the air conditioner, indicating that the codes have matched. Once you hear the beep, press the "OK" button to finalize the pairing process. Congratulations, your remote control is now successfully paired! Please note that some air conditioners may have multiple supported codes. If that's the case, you can repeat the above procedure to enter the correct code.I hope these instructions help you set up your remote control effortlessly. Enjoy the convenience of controlling your AC unit with this amazing device!

Good Remote But....
The stock remote that came with my Toshiba wall AC unit has the bubble type of buttons. After a lot of use the bubbles lose their responsiveness and stop working. I decided to look for a replacement and searched the internet. This remote got good reviews so I ordered it. It arrived promptly and I followed the instructions to program it for my AC (Toshiba). I was happy that it powered on the AC unit when I pressed the power button. Most functions seemed to work and the remote feels like it will hold up better than the stock unit. My only complaint is when I went to adjust the temperature (which was in Fahrenheit) it changed the display to Celsius. This was a big deal for me as living in the US I am used to Fahrenheit.

So far so good
I had trouble with the last universal remote for my air conditioner so I wasn't too confident I would find a good one this time but so far I'm pleasantly surprised, it is a little unusual how you have to program it but after a I little trial and error I figured it out and it's been working great ever since, I hope it keeps it up especially since we're heading into summer in Southern California here, I have mobile difficulties and I don't handle the heat well so having the ability to turn on my ac without having to hobble myself over to it is a blessing
